Nope. Falling Down is pretty good, but I think this movie is better than that too.

Oh no, no. It's not that type of movie at all. It's a drama, but not anything with violence.

How pissed off is the person in this drama?
|
|
|
Post by Evil Dave on Sept 9, 2007 0:34:29 GMT -5
Very pissed off! The entire cast of many revolves around this fact. Most of them are pissed off too. Some for the same reason as the main character, some for other reasons. The shock at the end though, reveals maybe none of them should have been pissed off in the first place. One other clue: This movie boasts a very impressive ensemble cast. Two have been nominated for Oscars, and one of them has won one for sure. The other might have, but I can't remember for sure. The rest of the cast are well known as well, either from previous work in tv or film, although most are quite young and still somewhat up-and-coming. Good luck!

I'm stumped.

Lol, yeah I think you are. Don't feel bad, I don't think you've seen this movie. If you had, I know you would have guessed it by now as I'm positive you're smart enough to have figured it out based on the info and quotes I've given. If it turns out you haven't seen it, I highly recommend you do as it's a superbly written script with lights out acting. Maycanady is pretty good at this game, maybe she's seen it.
One last hint just in case you did see this: It's not so much about what the main character does because of anger, it's more about how her actions affect her circle of family and others, and how their reactions force her to realize that hanging onto the anger is no way to go through life. *Spoiler Alert* - It also has a GREAT plot twist that throws a huge monkey wrench into what you THINK you're watching. Hope that helps!

The Upside Of Anger ;D I've only seen it once and was almost stumped until I read the "Younger girls are nice" quote, which I remembered.

^^^^ Hooray for you maycanady! I knew you'd come through! As you've proven yourself to be the queen of guessing movie quotes, you win a crown bejeweled with Skittles and Jujubes. BTW, what did you think of the movie? It's one of my favorites.

Okey doke, time for the next game. Your hint is: This movie is about one of the most important 1st Amendment cases ever to go before the Supreme Court.
1. "I turned the whole world into a tabloid."
2. "I've had an epiphany once. When my daddy shot my entire family in the head, and I was the only one to identify the bodies, and I was sent to an orphanage full of good Christian nuns who shoved my face into their pussies with their cruxifixes on for eight damn years!"
3. "Unpopular speech is absolutely vital to the health of our nation."
4. "Would you do me a favor? Just tell that miserable old gray-haired bastard to go fuck himself, we're going to trial."
5. "He's talking to Mrs. Claus, and holding in his hand what appears to be a large, erect penis."
6. "Why do *I* have to go to jail to protect *your* freedom?"
7. "If the First Amendment will protect a scumbag like me, it will protect all of you."
8. "25 years? All I'm guilty of is bad taste."
9. "What is more obscene: Sex or war?"
10. "Your honor, I'm an atheist. I can't very well, uh, swear to a God I don't believe exists."
11. "She ain't bad. She ain't legal either."
12. "I oughta move somewhere, where perverts are welcome."
13. Opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one."
Good night, and good luck!

As Ed used to say to Carson, "You are correct Sir!"
In honor of Mr. Flynt, you win a "slightly" used copy of 'Hustler.'

Great movie. It's also the second saddest movie I've ever watched. That ending nearly killed me as a film-viewer.

^^^ Oh, I totally agree. It's one of my favorite films. Whenever I hear about crap like the Patriot Act and all the b.s. that entails I pop this movie in to remind me how important the 1st Amendment is. IMO every American should watch it at least once.
And yeah, the ending does totally break the viewer's heart. Very powerful.

My turn:
Some words, just peoples' names, will be removed (LIKE THIS) to keep the guessing a little harder
"Who is this woman?" "The new maid!" "Why is she crying?" "She's...just happy to be working for us." "That'll change."
"Um, that's right, Mr. (REMOVED)... Here's money. And..here's more money. And, look... here's a lovely new twenty dollar bill!"
"(REMOVED) was right! You are an ox! And a moron!"
"We can't have a stiff in the house with company coming." "You're right. It ain't proper."
"I have no idea what you're talking about. But if you love me, if you ever loved me, you'll find my little girl a husband!!"
"It's the music you kids listen to today! Bing Crosby, Cab Calloway?! Don't think I haven't heard the lyrics to Minnie the Moocher!"
"Ix-nay on the ooze-bay. Ankers-bay!"
"Great! The maid gets a millionaire, and my daughter gets a chauffer."
"So sue me, Toomey."
"I'm used to dealing with mobsters, bootleggers, gunsles, but you bankers... are scary."

BTW, what did you think of the movie? It's one of my favorites. I thought it was good, but personally I didn't find it to have a lot of re-watchability.
