I also want to put in a hearty recommendation for the package. It literally has about 5+ hours of pure interviews. It is packed beyond packed, and is pure retribution for people who got Zero extras on the DVDs for: Halloween 2, Halloween 3, Halloween 6, and the underwhelming DVDs of Halloween 5, H20, and 4. Until 4 & 5 got special editions.

^Ooooh, that Masters of Horror boxset. I was extremely pissed when I found out about it because I already own most of the entires in there except for, I think, 2. And since I'm sure as hell not about to double dip on the ones I already have, I miss out on the cool box. Anyhoo, went to Best Buy today and came out with 'Pollyanna' (2 disc Vault Disney collector's edition) and 'Rent'. ;D And next week I have a triple whammy to look forward to when I get Family Guy Vol. 5, 'Selena' 10th anniversary edition, and the new collector's edition of 'Flashdance' (Shut up, it's a guilty pleasure). ;D

I've never seen Flashdance, so I couldn't say anything. If anything, maybe you should be embarrassed about Rent (I would be). But, excellent pick-up with Pollyanna. I kind of want that edition too. But, the one 2-disc Vault Edition I want the most, they put out of print: The Parent Trap. Most of the special features were put on the 2-disc Parent Trap / Parent Trap 2 double feature. But I'm still not happy. I'm not sure what they tossed out, but I do think Parent Trap II should have been been double-featured with Part 3, or boxset-ed with 3 and Hawaiian Honeymoon. But, even if they force their Treasures collections and Platinum Editions out of print, at least the Vault Editions pretty much stay in print. Except for Parent Trap and Old Yeller.
As for the Masters of Horror boxset, I only paid $43 max. That's less than I paid for my 5 episode DVDs I bought separately (almost $70!). So for nearly half what I paid for 5 DVDs, I get 9 extra (including the Bonus Disc- which I had to have - and may have even more bonus features than originally advertised, like Deleted Scenes, which would mean that now Jenifer has the deleted gore scenes).

^The only reason I'm not embarrassed about Rent is that I was one of the Drama Geeks in high school and college and was (still am) pretty much obsessed with musicals. ;D As for The Parent Trap vault edition, as far as I know the only feature that got dropped for the 2 Movie Collection was the audio commentary. A few of the featurettes may have been dropped as well, but I'm not sure because I don;t have the Vault edition either. I know it can be found on Amazon, used, for around 20 bucks or less though. And as for the MOH box set....I think I may ask for it for Christmas.

^^^ Nah, don't be embarrassed about Rent. Everybody has movies/music in their collection that they'd rather not have anyone know about. Now, if you'd purchased 'Squirm' that would be a different story! (just kidding Laz, I couldn't help myself)

Squirm's a good movie. Deny it all you want, but you can't change what's written in stone.

My dvd of The Worst Witch arrived yesterday. It was great seeing it after so long. I had forgotten JUST how awesomely bad it was. Especially Tim Curry's music video performance of 'Anything Can Happen On Halloween' in the middle of the movie. And Charlotte Rae playing her own twin sister, with a pirate outfit and pink hair. It's like one big drug trip.

Yesterday I bought a copy of 'Gigli' from the bargain bin for $1.99. My plan is to give it to the first rude/bratty trick-or-treater that shows up at my door this Halloween. ;D

Especially Tim Curry's music video performance of 'Anything Can Happen On Halloween' in the middle of the movie. And Charlotte Rae playing her own twin sister, with a pirate outfit and pink hair. It's like one big drug trip. It was technically a movie for kids- so there is no such thing as awesomely bad when you watch it for nostalgic reasons from the point of view of the child within. Don't tell me you've grown up too much, gotten too 'mature' for your own good. It's actually a great movie because I think it deals rather adequately with a young person's feelings of isolation. It also appropriately creates a very real social microcosm, sans people actually striking, swearing at, and killing each other. We have the sympathetic and the pathetic, the nurturers and the torturers, the snobs and the elite, the earthy wild child, the outcasts, the tag-alongs, the nerd, the unexplainables, the ruling class, the guardian, the rebel, and an atmosphere where you could practically disappear without anyone noticing you were there. There's a lot going on in this movie actually. At least... if there's a lot inside the viewer. the MST3K crew turned that awful awful movie into a great comedy..thats the only thing that in stone Squirm is great and you are insane if you think it's not. If you didn't like it, well...not everyone always appreciates greatness. But that's your opinion. It was a great movie. And like I said - that which is set in stone cannot change. So, you can't change it. Sorry. I know that's hard for you, but...

Ok, so I was out today picking up Family Guy vol. 5, and I noticed that my Target already has their little horror movie section up for Halloween. Tons of great horror films at 5 bucks a pop. I picked up The Fog (1980), Friday The 13th part 2 (the only F13 movie I was missing) and The Sixth Sense. They had a lot of other titles available as well. I saw all of the Friday The 13th films (minus Jason X and Freddy vs jason), Audrey Rose, Carrie, House of the Damned, Legend of Hell House, Bless The Child, and Bride of Chucky.

I usually take a QUICK look at what Wal-Mart's Halloween selection looks like... but it almost always sucks. Haven't bought a DVD from them on Halloween since Gremlins 2 in 2004. They always crowd certain companies together and call that a deal. On a particular year, all they've got up for titles are releases by New Line, Warner, MGM, and Sony/Columbia-TriStar. And not very many titles, but way too many copies of each. One year, they honestly had like 40 copies of the double features for Ghoulies/Ghoulies 2 and 40 more copies of the now defunct Phantasm: Special Edition. Hope everyone here has a copy of that, you can't get several of those features on the Anchor Bay DVD of Phantasm.

you may have liked it in a bad cheesy way... It didn't try to be Citizen Kane. This was written as a distracting sci-fi horror film about killer worms. For what it was, it was great. but dont call it great unless its the MST3K version People who take that show as a guide on how to see movies are either idiots or supreme nerds. Squirm is great and you're full of cow turd.
