Nice story, T. Tell us the part where you won the Nobel Peace Prize again... And the part when you were crowned The King of Belgium. Or, when you stopped that busload of Arabian terrorists from running over those blind orphans playing hopscotch
what are you talking about? , i said it didnt look that funny to me so i didnt see it, pull the panties out if ur asshole, im not the one that tries to make other people like or dislike movies, i realize everyone has there own opinion, this is the prime example of why most people dont liek you, i was simply stating my opinion and you go apeshit... anyway
Dark Secrets- a waste of an hour and a half of my life, not much more to say this was just one bad aussie flick
shuttle- about a few poeple who catch a latnight shuttle from an airport and the driver turns out to be a crazed physco killer, it was actually pretty decent, started off really good, had some good plot twists and a pretty good ending i didnt see coming, only prob was it dragged on at times, deff coulda been shorter, good overall tho

hmm, never heard of those but i fully support supporting independent horror. i watched Martyrs recently. Pretty fucked up, but not too fucked up. the first 3 quarters of the movie were really good but then it began to drag a bit.

T you are a fucking retard. I have explained things to you for over a YEAR now and you haven't taken ANYTHING in. But I will say it again, because I refuse to let retards get the last word: I do not try to change people's minds. Can you read? Do you understand The English Language? Are you getting this yet, Retard?? Stop drooling and picking your nose and learn how to READ, idiot. You keep saying that I try and change people's minds because you want it to be true. It's not true. Stop saying it, it's not. I never said I GIVE A FUCK what other people think. I've always said - think what you want to. But when you make a statement that is as stupid as "Texas Chainsaw Massacre sucks," or "The Evil Dead sucks," you are going to be CORRECTED by me. If it's your opinion - say it's your opinion. But you never do. You think you're above saying it's your opinion. You don't do any research, you don't think half the time, you're TOTALLY BIASED to only like movies like The Blob remake and remakes from this decade and to dislike older horror films. And you don't know anything about quality. You don't go into details, you never discuss things - you make sweeping RETARDED statements all the time and try to say "The Majority Agrees with me." At least I have the balls to say "FUCK the Majority." Technically, the Majority is as stupid as you, T. The Majority just walks by movies, looks for a few seconds to go "Do I Like This?," looking at the surface and never digging any deeper, and that's their judgment. That's NOT judgment. It's retarded. And if you don't want to be a Retard, you'll stop STICKING UP FOR the stupid way to judge movies. You'll admit that you don't know everything. I ALREADY HAVE admitted that I don't know everything. You ignore that because you want to win this little fight you started. That's all you care about, fighting and winning the fight. Not discussing movies or understanding them. If you are smarter than you act, T, maybe you should try acting smarter or more mature. Then I can stop having to talk to you like a fucking idiot. That's all you ever act like. Oh, and as for "nobody liking" me - I don't want hypocrites and people who post whore pics to " Like" me. I get along with a lot of people. Not everyone agrees with every thing I say. But they know how to GET OVER IT. Look around, T. You're bitching. Necro sometimes bitches. But - who else is complaining right now?? If you have a COMPLEX opinion - I will listen. But I refuse to listen to or accept opinions like "(This) Sucks or (That) is a Masterpiece" without a good reason. T, here are the reasons people like you and Biscuit and Mal have given for movies " we've disagreed on:" Saw - YOU - "The ending is great." OH WOW, what a perfect reason for that film to be a masterpiece!! The Blob Remake - YOU - "That kid dies." Again, WOW, what a great reason for a movie to be better than The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, one of the Greatest Horror Films of All Time, and The Evil Dead (a movie with 5 TIMES more creativity and ingenuity than the Blob remake). Maniac - Biscuit - "That shotgun to the head makes the movie a masterpiece." Oh SURE. Of course, that's the only reason the movie is a masterpiece. One scene that lasts 5 seconds makes an 85 minute movie great! Do you need any more proof that you are so full of shit?? You KNOW this is your way here. You don't discuss - you just want a Free Pass to say any stupid thing that crosses your mind without anyone "CALLING YOU" on them!SORRY, T, but you asked for this. You've had this coming FOR A LONG DAMN TIME!

but see you know i just ignore your long pointless rants about nothing anyway i just watched a new slasher called laid to rest, one of the better slashers i have seen recently, had some GREAT gore/death scenes, and one hell of a badass killer, the main girl was a bit annoying and the movie dragged a little in the middle, but we have seen a bunch of shitty slashers this decade so this was a fresh surprise, there was one death scene in it which may have been the best death scene in a movie i have seen this decade, certainly worth a viewing if you are in need of a good slasher

Today I watched "Blood Feast". I had heard a great deal about this movie. Words like "seminal" were thrown around. What a disappointment. The pacing is excruciating, the acting is abysmal, the sound is tinny and the soundtrack is antiquated. It actually plays as if were a theatrical production. The only thing that makes this movie stand out in any way is the gore. For 1963, this gore is exceptional. Hell, it was better than most of the movie from the 80's. They say that this is one of the original slasher films. If that is true, then historians of the sub-genre may find it interesting. Other than that, I recommend against it...

but see you know i just ignore your long pointless rants about nothing You ignore everything that makes you look like a hypocrite. I can see your problems are never going to be fixed. So - just learn to quit blaming me for your bullshit and stop pretending I'm the one with a problem when you keep writing off every criticism of yourself but think you sit high & mighty enough to judge me. Mmmmkay? (See what I'm dealing with, here Necro - this is the guy you insisted was right) Today I watched "Blood Feast". I had heard a great deal about this movie. Other than that, I recommend against it... Well, it is a pretty old schlock / exploitation movie. Back in the 60's, there was zero budget for that kind of thing. I don't know whether or not that makes a difference. I have never been too interested in checking out HGL's films. I'm pulling a T on HGL. ;D As for me, due to the suggestion to check out Madagascar 2, I decided to try the first (since a roomie has the DVD)... Now, it's definitely funnier (at times) than I expected based on the star-studded advertising campaign and big box-office thisthatandtheotherthing. I wasn't impressed by the ads. Watching any Hollywood film these days is a tribulation for sure. This one was definitely very funny in a few places and pretty clever at times (my favorite was the tranquilizer darts gag). But also more obnoxious than the second movie. Not as much energy, not as interesting, too cliched (even more than the sequel). And also lacking the fun character development between David Schwimmer and Jada Pinkett. This time it's all about Chris Rock's character, who kind of bored me.

donkey punch, about a group of girls and guys who meet at a bar/club and end up going out on a boat to party, one of them gets killed in a freak type of accident and that leads to panic, things get ugly from there..... movie had some suspense and some surprises, not really a horror movie but a good thriller

Where did you come across that movie?
I THINK I've heard some things about it. That it's new and getting attention, if not the next "great" horror film, whatever.

5 words for you, T: LET THE RIGHT ONE INYou see it, let me know what you think. It's new and you know what? It's now made IMDb's list of Top 10 Most Voted "Best Horror Films Ever Made" list (all 10 films have a current vote of Higher Than 8.0). This one's BIG. I'd be interested on hearing your opinion. (And hey, if you say it sucks...I know it's great ;D)

Did yet another re-watch of some Argento pics. This rating really goes for the DVD, which blew me AWAY last night. I cranked up the volume and... It was like watching it for the very first time. The bass was pumping, the screams and glass were shattering. I LAUGHED in places I've never laughed before. I jumped (as a reaction). I grinned ear to ear, uncontrollably. I even got CHILLS. Argento is such an underrated director at creating tension. Turn the volume up almost as high as it will go and get ready for a ride. 'Cause this DVD will surely take you on one. Unfortunately, the same treatment doesn't work quite as well for Phenomena. The first 7 minutes were pure KNOCK OUT material. Again, volume cranked up almost as high as it will go. That opening, especially when the victim gets to the waterfall, is beyond chilling. You could practically touch the sweat on me. And that sound quality was amazing. The rushing water was so loud and vibrant - it was DEAFENING! Then, the movie reveals its great flaw: dialogue scenes. As much as this always was my very favorite Argento movie, last night's re-watch was torturous in places. Especially the scenes where Jennifer talks to Sophie, then later talks to Donald Pleasence's character about the mating bug. Then, a stalking sequence scored to Iron Maiden? Ouch. Actually, it's good ( especially those guitars)... until the vocalist starts singing. Awful vocals on that song. Also, the stuff with that monkey just doesn't work at all. And all the references to "avenging"... What is this, an action movie? Then, about the DVD. The greatest flaw - the bass is TOO DAMN HEAVY. There's a scene with the girls in the school sitting and talking about some writer and I can't take my mind off the fact that there is a huge bass buzz going on. Where's it coming from?? Nowhere. Basically, everything you hear bass on after the first 20 minutes is double the original magnitude. Which makes it sound like crap. But, then I got to one of my favorite scenes- the ending. Especially that amazing scream Jennifer lets out. Sounds fantastic on the DVD. So, if you fluctuate the volume up and down a bit, it's no problem. Plus the picture quality is better than Tenebre's.

Hey Laz! In reference to "Let the Right One In", I was looking it up to download it and I found this quote in the comments section.
"This movie is way to good to be downloaded. If it wasn't because i loved the movie "saw4" then this would be my fave horror movie. i can recommend it to all."
Just thought you might get a kick out of that.

Not quite. But I'd sure LIKE TO kick the dildo who said that.
Though... This does show that the film is actually crossing borders between serious horror fans and the trendy kiddie fans. It's also in a foreign language I'm told... Hopefully it will get more people to read subtitles (even though the movies suck, if I find out anyone here watched High Tension or Inside with the ENGLISH language dub playing - you're in deep shit).

Watched a few nights ago, for the first time: Surprisingly funny and smart. A very good romantic comedy, overall. They did overdo it with all the different characters Arsenio Hall & Eddie would play.

Just watched a childhood favorite (for the first time in at least 15 years!): Based on the claim by the Mutant Reviewers from Hell that the film is a lot less aimed at child humor than it is toward adults, I was surprised to find that this indeed was smarter than most kids' movies. The funniest thing is that this movie was made by a Husband and Wife team. She directed, he produced. They seem to be pushing a couple little buttons, too. The movie outright mentions alcohol more than once. My favorite joke is when a slow-speed tape-recording of Dave calls Miss Miller, she shouts- "David! Are you drunk?!" Probably best are the sister & brother team, Claus and Claudia, and their little dog Sophie, who is freaking hilarious. In one scene, while Claudia is jogging on a tredmill, she has her own tiny little tredmill right next to Claudia's. Her little gimmick is that she's more pampered and demanding than the people are. Claudia's a nasty, thin-lipped, foreign version of Joan Crawford in psycho Strait-Jacket mode crossed with the wicked stepmother, Lady Tremaine, from Disney's Cinderella. And Claus is clearly gay. Very prissy and weird. But here's the kicker... I think the husband & wife filmmakers were trying to make Dave gay too. See for yourself (1:40). Anyway, it's a damn fun movie. The only flaw is the songs aren't all great. In fact, most of them are not too good.

Saw Star Trek tonight, thought it was mediocre to good. Somewhere in there. If you are a trekkie, apparently, you'll love it though as the theater was applauding individual freaking credits they liked it so much.
Also, I noticed someone mentioned Let the Right One In. I think I got T to download it before he lost it, but I really would recommend that to anyone. Very good in my opinion.

Watched a few nights ago, for the first time: I want to say it was worse than it really was. Because for the most part, I don't remember much good about it. The story is pretty ridiculous, the musical numbers are awful, the beginning is lame, the jokes are predictable and painfully cliched. But it does get a little better as it goes along.

Jack Brooks Monster Slayer
this movie had 80's cheese written all over it, it could have been great tho but only turned out to be good, the guy who played jack brooks and robert england both gave good performances, all the monster effects were "men in rubber suits" no cgi, and it had a little bit of gore and also some funny bits, but the monsters took to long to show up on screen, and the 2 main ones they show on the dvd cover, a werewolf looking guy and a cyclops had only about a minute of screen time, which sucked, i would like to see them make a part 2, they could turn this into a real good/fun franchise of movies, just give me more monsters next time!

Jack Brooks Monster Slayer this movie had 80's cheese written all over it Not many 80's horror-comedy-action etc movies featured redneck, hillbilly, flanel-shirt wearing main characters. Re-watched a childhood film: It's much smarter than a typical Disney film. For example, the father has speeches like you wouldn't believe. But they're incredibly detailed yet concise. The next thing is that this film actually sets up a stern, hard man... then has a firm woman step in and cut him to ribbons every time he thinks he's going to put her in her place. The interplay between Mr. Banks and Mary Poppins is amazing. She's domineering, yet he doesn't let her take him over either. But it's important that she be strong, since the wife who runs around constantly on some patrol for womens' rights is the most "yes, dear!" or "I'd just muddle the whole thing up," self-defeating person I've seen on film in a long time. The children aren't stupid or annoying either. Neither is Dick Van Dyke, as the American pretending to be British. Also, there's a sequence where an animatronic bird sings on Mary Poppins finger... After all these years, that technology still stuns me! There are no wires. She's moving that robot all around... Could it possibly be remote controlled? And the animated sequence really is great. I especially loved the backgrounds during the "Jolly Holiday" scene. Not a perfect film, though. Some of the musical numbers get embarrassingly stupid. Especially the big Chimpney Sweep thing on the roof that takes 7 minutes and... God... they dance so much, the music runs out and they start playing Irish jig and fiddling type stuff. It's insane... The penguin dance sequence is also incredibly...not good.
