A monumental disappointment for this horror fan. A "documentary" that has all the substance of a discussion of the meaning of life with a Barbie doll. The worst part? Getting literally dozens of original cast and crew members... just to make cheap jokes and scream. There's almost no discussion of the actual films and filmmaking (only stories we've heard before and the only people telling the stories are the people who did interviews for Paramount's first boxset), no real talking about the making of the movies or the crew members working on the movies (all they talk about is the remake or ideas for making new movies with old characters), and the documentary devotes WAY too much time to fans with nothing intelligent to say whatsoever. I spent 86% of the entire 90 minutes thinking about how good or bad the cast / crew members look now (fyi- Jensen Daggett, Rennie from Jason Takes Manhattan, and Diane Almeida, Kate from The New Blood, look the best of all the Friday the 13th cast members). The only redeeming qualities about the whole thing are the behind-the-scene photographs, video clips from things like The Simpsons, and watching Catherine Parks and Larry Zerner re-enact the false scare scene in Friday the 13th Part III and seeing Diana Barrows and Elizabeth Kaitan from Part VII: The New Blood back-to-back doing their scenes. And those sequences are ruined by having the credits take up more than half the screen space. Overall, this is a horribly wasted opportunity that should have been more definitive than the book. Nobody took it seriously. In fact, Tom Savini spends several minutes hamming it up by killing people in some bullshit "short film" sort of thing, almost all the movie music is removed from clips and they put in this crappy "heavy metal" music or bad score, and a good 10 minute chunk is devoted to interviewing people from the fucking remake. I didn't know Anchor Bay's job in making a documentary about the franchise was to pimp the new remake...

Is that you Dave? I figured you were too busy planning Obama parades to chat with us shanty-dwellers... I'm actually really proud of him for getting the gay priest/bishop (whatever) to preside at one of his big ceremonies. In fact, my roommate got a call from Concerned Women for America - the rightie cunts (you love that word so much, Mal, so I'm using it special just for Your peeps), so I gave them a google search to see what they're pissed off about now. Weirdly enough, it's Obama's "gay agenda" - your peeps AS USUAL want to keep portraying us as pedophiles and crazy sex-fiends who'll rape every guy in site (like most of them can't/wouldn't punch us out anyway if we got too fresh) and damn America to hell. So yeah Mal - why shouldn't I support the Asshole-Right?? They want my people to have no rights JUST BECAUSE we're sexually attracted to the same gender. I know- isn't that just as bad as killing people?

Physically speaking, gay sex is wrong. It doesn't fit(pardon the pun). One is for pleasure, one is for pooping. PERIOD. The Asshole Right Vs. the Pussy Left! Ding ding!!! As far as "gay rights" , not a problem. What you do is your business but as far as a class field trip(which I have seen) to go see your "alternative" teacher go get married to the same sex, no fucking way. No fucking way would I let my kid go see something like that. They don't have field trips to go see some straight people get married, do they??? Schools, in general, are run by post-hippie,swede-patch wearing, ex-terrorist beatniks so that causes some concern for me. Look at this broad who just had these 8 kids.... In my little "world" this never would have happened. You've got this welfare bum (complete with plastic surgery) who already had a "litter" of kids and then .... BAAM!!! Here comes 8 more. Who pays for this shit? I would lock this "woman" up in a nuthouse, disbar the "doctor" who did this shit, and put the kids all in foster homes. Only a liberal system would let some bullshit like this happen.... Answer that, Capote?!

Physically speaking, gay sex is wrong. It doesn't fit (pardon the pun). One is for pleasure, one is for pooping. PERIOD. That's an interesting theory... Because probably SEVERAL millenniums of people having sex that way begs to differ with you. As far as "gay rights" , not a problem. What you do is your business but as far as a class field trip (which I have seen) to go see your "alternative" teacher go get married to the same sex, no fucking way. No fucking way would I let my kid go see something like that. They don't have field trips to go see some straight people get married, do they??? That's about history, Mal. It's a field trip to see history changing. Not much, but we're getting there. LITTLE by LITTLE. It was a very valid class assignment, obviously. And exactly why would people go on a field trip to see something that can be done IN A LAS VEGAS DRIVE THROUGH for Christ's sake?! Straight-Marriage is not a special event. Straight People STAYING married...that's the new miracle everyone's waiting to witness. If I had kids, I would gladly grant them permission to go on a field trip to see Straight People Married for over 25 years re-new their vows. Hell, I would even ARRANGE for the kids' trip myself (just short of paying all bus / lunch fees with my own money). Or, I'll go you one better, another miracle: Straight Married Couples raising healthy, intelligent, RESPECTFUL straight kids. Your people are really doing a bang-up job of that. Schools, in general, are run by post-hippie, swede-patch wearing, ex-terrorist beatniks so that causes some concern for me. You don't know jack-shit about Terrorism, Mal. You Righties fucked up the Iraq war, cost hundreds of thousands of lives of American soldiers and innocent Iraqi civilians (AND children!), and what is there to show for it? Billions of dollars in war-profits raked in for Halliburton and Dubya and his minions, and the U.S. Health Care system and economy are in just about the saddest state they've been in since the fucking Great Depression! How do I know you're not getting pissy just because you didn't want Obama to win? Look at this broad who just had these 8 kids... In my little "world" this never would have happened. I'm sure if everything was up to you, things would run A LITTLE smoother. For awhile. Before you did what all the other Righties do. You go fucking Ego and think just because you're in charge of leading America economically, that you have the right to start controlling whether or not people can have Abortions, or whether gay people can get married or not. Yeah, welfare's fucked up. It's an imperfect system. And in my opinion, it should stay that way until the Righties start fixing their own bullshit. Then, we'll work on the few things the Left are doing so badly. You can't persecute the Left for doing something that tightens American wallets a bit while praising the Right when they almost DESTROYED America from 2000 to 2008, corrupted and polluted nearly every system in this entire nation, and murdered probably over a MILLION PEOPLE. You Righties will ignore every evil your own kind perpetrates in a posing effort to slam the Left everytime, hoping you guys look more macho and tough by comparison. You look like an idiot. And it's all an act. You've got this welfare bum (complete with plastic surgery) who already had a "litter" of kids and then .... BAAM!!! Here comes 8 more. Who pays for this shit??? Good point. And I recognize the same problem in America. But - Which side wants to abolish Abortion and promotes heterosexual breeding, pretends Overpopulation doesn't exist, and promotes every ignorant, selfish, consumeristic value / ideal in the book? The Right. Not the Left. The problems with Welfare are because of The Right. You think you're so good at seeing all these screwed up families with too many kids and stupid parents. What values do you think they believe-in and preach? The "fuck you, all I care about is me" mantra of THE RIGHT. Not the Left. Welfare was set up to help people who really need it and the irresponsible Social Working system in America is because the Left can't get proper funding to investigate Welfare and Social Security cases. You clearly don't know shit about the Social Welfare system in America. It would do it's job properly if they had the right funding. Where do you think all the money in American government goes? Military and Business. And, of course, making sure Gay People can't get married. Only a liberal system would let some bullshit like this happen... Answer that, Capote?! Don't call me, Capote, you stupid little HOZER. Only the Right allows it to happen because they fuck everyone over - even their own. The politicians and Rightie administrations in America are posers who just use Traditional Moral Values to look good and get votes. They don't give a fuck about any issues. They don't care if a billion Republican-voting Americans can't afford to live off the scraps The Bush Administration tossed to them, it's a game to them. The liberal and Democrat politicians at least have DELUSIONS of doing something good and important. They all care, in addition to being selfish and somewhat ego-driven. That's the nature of politics. But the Right are a purely SATANIC force. They lie to everyone, use even their own kind to get a platform, they make promises they don't keep, then just plug-in to War Profit Machines to make a little dough while giving speeches to the public to re-inforce their "approval ratings." You don't have to be smart to fool most Americans. We're raised on stupid ideals, slaves to the consumer culture, and taught to rarely question what we're being told. And if you want praise for being a responsible politically-minded citizen of either America or Canada, you have to first understand that we were all created equal - gay or straight. When you show some respect for your fellow gay politically-minded citizen, then what you say will be treated with more relevance.

It wasn't supposed to be. That's how the studios make money. By making the remakes all copy each other. Making sure they all feel the same. It was crap in 2003 and it's still crap now.
I'm just going to sit around and wait for the impending remake of Shocker. I think that one actually has some potential.
Besides, My Bloody Valentine will clearly go down in the record books as the definitive remake. And no remake will ever be as popular and mainstream as The Ring anyway. The trend is over and dead. It's time they fuckin' buried it. I just can't believe they didn't remake MBV sooner than 2009. A little late.

well technically it wasnt even really a remake, just had the same name, but they easilly could have done alot more with it, because it didnt really have suspense, and it wasnt even a gorefest, the gore was actually pretty tame compared to what i thought it would be, the movie could have been something big but ended up feeling like alot of the dtv slashers i have seen in the past couple of years.....i have a feeling we will be seeing more fridays very soon too

Just finished watching some bizarre New Zealand indie-horror flick that my sister brought over called 'Black Sheep.' Two brothers jointly own a sheep farm in New Zealand. Of course 1 brother is pious and good, while the other is twisted and evil. The evil bro is hellbent on creating the "perfect" sheep and starts messing with sheep DNA to get the desired result. After failing many times he decides to cross the sheep DNA with that of a human----------by fucking one of the mutant sheep (oh wait it gets better, lol )...........So the "essences" of the two species end up intertwining in some unexplained way resulting in............... WERE-SHEEP!!! Yes that's right I said were-sheep. Think of the wolves from 'The Howling' except add wool instead of fur, hooves instead of claws, and baaaa-ing instead of howling. I'm not sure I've ever laughed so damn hard in my entire life. Now I'm not sure if it was purposely made to be "so bad it's good" or if whoever actually conceived this was attempting to make a serious horror flick.............The premise is so ridiculous that I can't imagine it was intended as a serious horror installment, but at the same time the cinematography and meticulous detail to gore seem to suggest otherwise. Aside from the absolutely absurd premise, the movie is actually really well done. It was shot really well and the editing is top notch, and it has some really impressive gore scenes........But of course it's just nearly impossible to find SHEEP to be scary in any way at all, no matter how ambitious the attempt. Anyways, I enjoyed it...........not as a horror piece..........but rather as a non-intentional comedy. Check it out if you're in the mood to say WTF?? for about 90 minutes. ;D

haha i actually picked up black sheep as a blind buy when it first came out, it just sounded to crazy not to, but yea i agree with pretty much what you said, although i think it started to drag on and get a little boring as the movie went on, it was well made, had some good gore and the were-sheep was pretty fucking cooooooool, i just wish he had been in it more, the ending was also pretty dumb in a wtf funny kind of way haha it was a worth a watch but i dont think it was worth the 20$ or whatever i payed for it

Surprisingly... bad. Wow. I seem to remember it being much better than this. Points for atmosphere, some good score music, some of the sets / locations look really cool, and maybe one of the death scenes is really cool. But the story is terribly cliched - it's ultimately really predictable and not scary at all, the acting is horrible from almost everyone, the writing is garbage. I'm so glad I didn't buy the more expensive special edition first. This movie just wasn't worth it. haha i actually picked up black sheep as a blind buy when it first came out, it just sounded to crazy not to, but yea i agree with pretty much what you said, although i think it started to drag on and get a little boring as the movie went on, it was well made, had some good gore and the were-sheep was pretty fucking cooooooool, i just wish he had been in it more, the ending was also pretty dumb in a wtf funny kind of way haha it was a worth a watch but i dont think it was worth the 20$ or whatever i payed for it It's, I think, $9.00 at Wal-Mart now.
