now that is the kind of episode i have been waiting for, superior to just about all the others in just about every way, it had some suspense and a much darker and more sinister feel then any of the others, the only thing i didnt care for the the abrupt and anticlimatic ending, still a great episode tho considering some of the garbage we have seen

it was good up until the ending i think. also, is there something i missed? the brother said to the wife "tell the boys the truth if i die"

yea like i said the ending could have been better, i think it would have even been better had it been an actual movie, because some parts felt a little rushed, and the brother was the kids actual father, although there was really no explanation

I also agree, Skin & Bones is the best of the Fear Itself lineup by a longshot! Family Man was good. S&B was just great. And I said it too, on the Horror-DVDs(dot-com) message board, that among the 3 most interesting directors (John Dahl, Mary Harron, Larry Fessenden), one of them would deliver "THE" definitive Fear Itself episode. Mary Harron's episode was okay. But Larry Fessenden's episode tonight was just incredible!!
The best scene, hands down though, was the "cooking" scene. Beat the hell out of the "Eater" episode, didn't it? In fact, it was even better coming from Fessenden when you consider how non-gratuitous and really low-key his best horror film, Wendigo, was. There was just so much going on... And almost all of it worked like a charm. This one had me right off the bat with the younger brothers fighting for respect from the Uncle/Brother character. Surprisingly, that part of the plot worked wonders.
This one had a little bit of everything - the music was excellent, it was well-shot, it was scary, creepy, disturbing, stylish, dark... And surprising. I really did expect this to be more poetic and less gruesome. I was very pleasently surprised.

That's a very good question... The IMDb episode listing doesn't mention anything about next week's episode. Like who directed it or anything else.

maybe they are gonna skip a week like that did a few weeks ago, but even then they said we will be back in 2 weeks or something like that and still showed previews... so im not sure what to think

A couple of times they didn't show a preview I believe.
But yeah I've heard reports that the show's viewership is not as high as they thought it should be. Don't know what that means. Maybe they'll just move the timeslot or whatever.

yea i have heard that too, 10.pm on a weekday night might be to late for some people tho, they really would have been better having it on at 8 or 9, i know they put some shows like south park on later because that might not really be appropriate for younger kids, fear itself tho has been pretty tame, actually very tame, they really could put it on earlier and prob do better with the ratings

I don't think they would ever think about moving it up because they seem to think their Last Comic Standing or whatever that show is is too successful to change. I don't know why they don't just try another day. And...even though Fear Itself has mostly been a big waste, it's still preferable to any fucking reality tv show!

well yea changing the day wouldnt be a bad idea, maybe friday, they could even keep it on at 10, i think more people would tune in then since its the start of a weekend for alot of people, and yea i dont watch and cant stand reality tv, the thing is tho so many people watch reality tv that its never gonna die out, i would love to see another show like tales from the darkside or tales from the crypt, but i dont think that will ever happen, we are stuck with nothing but reality shows, which is why i dont watch much tv anymore

Well, there's no Fear Itself on the NBC schedule tonight.
Then, next week's the fucking Olympics.

I agree>Fuckin' Olympics. Now I won't be able to watch Coronation Street for months. Do they have Coronation Street down south?

You mean - they're throwing it away. Nothing's changed since last week. We'll have to wait 2 weeks and hope for the best.
With John Dahl's episode still up and coming... there's definitely something to look forward to!

No News, they just don't list it on the Weekly Schedule. Which of course means it's dead. NBC killed the only fucking free broadcast version of a Masters-of-horror type scenario.

kinda weird we have heard no news either way tho, cuz when a show gets canned you usually hear about it, honestly nbc was the wrong channel to bring it to, shoulda been scifi or something, they can get away with alot more, and it also should have been on earlier, i know we talked about this before but it doesnt make sense, usually they put shows on late if they have mature content, every fear itself episode was pretty tame tho, no worse then shows like CSI and without a trace, thursday night at 10 PM was just a dumb time and day to air the show

When it comes to content being edited down, that's all about people who's job it is to edit movies down. Movies have a built-in reputation coming to TV but a TV show builds its' own, so many censors don't even pay attention to that. They come to a movie with an already-built in prejudice (pre judgment). So they're thinking of what to edit out before they even get their hands on it. They see Fear Itself as Movie-Directors, which is of course how the show was sold anyway, so I'm sure the directors were already used to the self-censoring and knowing how much or little they could get away with as they were filming.
