Aha! There is actually some footage on You Tube of him in a boxing match with some of his critics. He's a pretty tough dude.

Well - now we know what he's good at.

If he had any aspiration of ever being taken seriously, why the hell would he go "box" movie critics?

Because apparently - he's good at it. He wants to show off. And he probably thinks someone will think he's as good a filmmaker as he is a boxer.

I rarely rip apart the movie without a group of people saying it was good when it actually wasn't.

I saw it late night when it came out (so I don't remember it well), but I was unimpressed. And, like I think I said before, the CGI was so bad that it ruined the movie for me. And I thought the movie followed much more in the vein of Men in Black than any other horror movie.
I might watch it again one day and magically change my mind. It's happened before (The Howling). But from what I saw, it was a mildly amusing movie (much in the way something like Critters was) but not nearly as special as many people take it. That's how unforgiving of CGI I am.

Too bad. It's actually pretty good.

Well, I might watch it again. But not for awhile.
But remember, too: I'm not impressed with most new movies anyway. The whole style of all today's filmmaking does not make me like many movies.

Yeah I can understand that. But that's also what I did like about it. It had a campy feel and tone that is much more reminiscent of 80's horror than that of the modern era.

I can't help myself, when there's something I feel that's unaddressed, I got to bring it up:
But you didn't like Troll 2. That's one of the pinnacle examples of campy movies, 80's or anytime in filmmaking. You not only dislike it, but you really damn-near slammed everyone who found something good in it.
What makes this movie and it's style the same as movies you clearly dispise? (or do I mean: Different from the movies...)

I'm not saying it's a great movie. Just that there are good things about it.

I don't think I'd call Troll 2 campy as much as I'd just call it really poorly made. To me there's big difference there. So I have to reject that theory.

Haha! Yep, there's a definite resemblance there!

Well there are definitely campy aspects to Troll 2. Credence Leonore Gielgud, for instance. Her silent-film acting is considered so over the top, there's no other way to look at her performance.

Oh man, T, I just went and watched that clip about 5 more times, and it gets funnier and funnier everytime!
"They're eating her. And then they're going to eat me......................................OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOD!"
Damn, why couldn't Mike and the Bots get ahold of this movie. It'd have been great! ;D
