Holy crap. You know where there's those ads on this site that say stuff like "download free smilies!"? One of them actually says " Chuck Norris' BBQ for Mike Huckabee Live Online". That kind of creeps me out.

A lot of religious people take it way too far. Not all of them, not even most. It's just that people like Fred Phelps, and Bin Ladin draw way more attention to themselves.
Huckabee is another. He's tried to present himself as being more moderate during this campaign, but in the past he's said that gay people need to be rounded up and killed. Even during the campaign he's said that he is a biblical literalist, and supports teaching creationism in public schools. I doubt Chuck is anywhere close to be the extremist that Huckabee is, but he has willingly chosen to associate himself with people like that. He's naturally going to be judged by the company he keeps.

he doesnt come off as one of those religious freaks acting like we are all sinners and the world is going to end.. or some bullshit like that Oh? Check it out: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WpaeD-HQkoWhat the fuck do you think he means when he says, "change the direction of our country, God knows we need it"? He doesn't think kids in school will vote for the next president or fix this war. He's talking about abortion and gay rights.

^^ there is nothing wrong with what he said
you just dont like the guy so you are trying to turn nothing into something
not that i agree with him because i really dont care if the bible is read or taught in schools but there is nothing wrong with thinking it is
there is a difference between being religious and being a religious freak.. he may be religious but hes far from a religious freak

He's a Celebrity. Mix that with religion and you get a religious freak.
Wow, T. You're so naive for your age.

thats pretty dumb to say, he comes off as religious but not a religious freak.. there is a huge difference
maybe religion is a sore subject for you but there is nothing at all wrong with being a religious person..

so a celebrity cant be religous?? maybe religion is a sore subject for you but there is nothing at all wrong with being a religious person.. He is PUSHING HIS RELIGION into other people's faces. Like a celebrity with an Agenda (remember KANYE WEST?) or who is world renowned for their Charity Causes (like U2, Barbra Streisand, Sting - etc.). But his agenda is not helpful or healthy. Because he is making a statement to push religion because of abortion and gay rights. Are you blind? Do I have to tell you that he got involved in the political race right now to support Huckabee based on these agendas of his? Like I said before - you are being naive.

^^ why do you keep bringing up gay rights
not every1 is against gays like you like to make us think
he is just saying how he feels and there is nothing wrong with that.. so what if they teach religous stuff in school.. if you dont like it then dont pay attention.. they taught me alot of boring shit i didnt care about in school.. regardless of what they teach you everyone is still gonna have there own opinion.. so there is nothing wrong with him stating how he feels.. like i said you just dont like chuck so you are trying to bad talk him for no reason

you just dont like chuck so you are trying to bad talk him for no reason On the contrary, before Chuck Norris lost his mind, I liked him a lot. True, I'm not a serious fan like everyone else. I hadn't seen 1 of his movies the whole way through. But I had no problem with him, either. In fact, I very much admired him for the Bowflex (?) Infomercials. Aside from the obvious reason, he decided to make a positive statement about keeping people in shape. Then he went nuts, did Walker: Texas Ranger, and many of the plotlines began revolving around religious issues. He let the absurdity of the material he worked on take over his whole public persona. And as for there being "nothing wrong with what he's saying," that's bullshit too. Because America is a nation built on Freedom. Freedom of Religion is one of our most important freedoms. He is trying to push 1 religion. Which forces people of other religions to conform to practicing his prefered religion. Which is a form of Imperialism. And just the fact that you would make a claim as ridiculous as that proves you are naive. why do you keep bringing up gay rights not every1 is against gays like you like to make us think What do you think Bible-Thumpers tell people The Bible preaches, the most? What are two of the most hot-button political topics right now? Why do you think he chose to push his "Bible Classes in school" the same time he's supporting Mike Huckabee? Because Gay Marriage is among the top 4 political issues. And people like Norris are not bringing up The Bible to make statements about the other 2 main political issues - the war in Iraq or the strength of borders / illegal immigrant laws. What do you think that leaves left? Gay Marriage and Abortion. His behavior is directly in-line with most well known religious people GETTING INVOLVED in politics. so what if they teach religious stuff in school.. if you dont like it then dont pay attention.. they taught me alot of boring shit i didnt care about in school.. regardless of what they teach you everyone is still gonna have there own opinion.. I think they know that. That's why they will find a way to try and start programming kids before they have an opinion on religion. If Norris gets his way, the people forcing the Bible studies in school can make it manditory of kids in 1st grade, or even kindergarten if they want to. If we give them the power, they will program whole generations of kids, to remove all the free thinking we had as kids, not being forced to learn religion. That's the only reason we ever had different opinions. These people will begin removing different thoughts from kids. If we care about our rights, we should fight this any way we can. Norris doesn't care.

well you can feel how you want about the whole thing I feel the way things really are. In this case, I'm right. i think you are looking into to much and just dont like chuck and dont believe much in religious stuff Of course I don't like him NOW. Because he's lost his mind and is trying to destroy Freedom of Religion in America. he has the right to do what he wants and hes not harming any1 He is using his celebrity influence to help in the Conservatives' agenda in taking away other peoples' rights. That IS harming.

None have really been taken per se. Gays have just had a long, uphill battle to get equality in the first place, and social conservatives have been opposed to them every step of the way.
I don't think the religious right has been as detrimental to gay rights, as psychologists used to be though. Psychologists used to classify homosexuality as a mental illness, and lawmakers, law enforcement, and the general public accepted that at face value. Once psychologists changed their position, and denounced the pseudoscience behind the belief that it was a mental illness, society slowly, but surely started to accept gay people. If you'll notice, most of the so-called "science" that fundamentalists quote about gay people, dates from the 40s and 50s, and is not considered credible among real psychologists any longer.
The religious right are ignorant, hate mongers, but people outside their movement really don't take them very seriously, except for politicians pandering for their votes. They are a hindrance, but their influence seems to be shrinking rather than growing. In another decade I doubt they will be relevant at all.
