Very good. The ending gets a little too goofy, but this is a surprisingly well-made little "sleeper" type horror film. A supernatural kind of twist on Alfred Hitchcock's classy, camerawork-driven suspense horror. Good production design, good acting, a lot of great little elements. Not surprisingly, it's written by the guy who wrote the controversial Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge. and I re-watched: Unfortunately, it's too action-adventure, too classic horror when it would definitely work best to be a little more disturbing. It's a little violent but very seldom actually scary. They have a lot of really dark ideas - overt sexuality, cannibalism, zombies, burying Snow White alive, burning a baby, crucifixion, rape, dancing with cut-out internal organs... but the movie's tone is just not dark enough to make those scenes feel the least bit dark. Though it's well made, well acted, and it works as a drama-horror film.

I Madman is great. Is it actually available on DVD now? It went out of print on VHS years ago, and was quiet hard to find.

Funny Games (2007) A remake of Michael Haneke's original 1997 home invasion thriller. Two clean-cut young men (Michael Pitt, Brady Corbet), wearing all white clothes with matching gloves, randomly attack and torture an upper class family (Tim Roth, Naomi Watts, Devon Gearhart). Unlike most films such as this, Funny Games condemns the glorification of violence in modern cinema. The two symbolic killers acknowledge the audience at certain points, taunting us as they systematically murder the family. We are never shown the actual kills, because the camera pans away just enough so we can't see the "goods". This is a brilliant move on Haneke's part. For a film which mocks us for craving fictinonal violence, it only makes sense for him to deprive us of the "good stuff". The acting is excellent. Roth plays a father who doesn't try and be a hero, but he's not a pitiful wimp either. Watts plays the mother figure very well, showing the right amount of fear and hopelessness, and at times resilliance. Pitt and Corbet are chilling as the two antagonists. Their polite and articulate way of speaking coupled with their brutal acts make for some very disturbing scenes. We know right away what we are in for. The opening shows the family driving to their vacation home, listening to calming classical music CDs. Suddenly, in huge red letters, the words FUNNY GAMES appears on the screen. Accompanying is an alarming and incoherent death metal song. Overall, I give Funny Games a perfect 10.

By all means, check it out.
Watching Brady Corbet work his golfclub is always a pleasure, if I do say so myself.

just watched the new action/thriller Taken, starred liam neeson, i have always been a fan of his and as usual he gave a good performance, while some of the action was a little over the top it was still a good movie, reminded me of an early seagal movie when he actually made good movies

Superhero Movie - Surprisingly funny. Has more in common with Naked Gun than Epic/Date/Scary movies. And nothing can be that shitty that has Leslie Nielson starring in it. 7/10

Dracula Dead and loving it was absolutely terrible. That was a Mel Brooks movie starring Leslie Nielson too. There's no way in hell a movie with both should have been that bad.

Watched most of: but skipped a few parts, naturally, because the music was too loud or it was those stupid parts when they were watching TV and stuff like that. It's a very fun movie.

Frontier(s) - France once again shows why they are dominating the Horror industry. The main actress gives one of the most convincing performances that I have ever seen. They went light on the CGI and stuck to more practical fx. Great music and truly scary villains. 8 1/2 /10
