i dont know why so many movies have such a prob with blood.. i mean it cant be any cheaper to do..they really should never be an excuse for bright red blood or cgi blood or any of that garbage
as for cursing and nudity i like little to none in my movies..a little bit of cursing adds realism but every other word being fuck most of the time sounds pretty dumb
as for nudity most of the time it just feels like its there for the sake of being there..i mean sure i love nudity i love the female body but im 24 and have seen alot of it by now.. plus i have a GF who i can do anything with so by seeing boobs it really doesnt do much for me..so really i can do with or without it.. but to many times it just feels tacked on for the sake of having boobs in a movie.. although sex does sell sooooooooo from a directors point i guess its not a bad idea

Man T, that is an incredibly intelligent and well spoken opinion on films. Glad to have it added into the conversation. I think some people just want horror movies to... Well, I point to example: Return of the Living Dead. It has "everything" and is a great movie, a lot of fun. But the reason why it's a great movie is not because it has a lot of swearing and nudity and/or any of that. Sure a little doesn't hurt. But the thing people like about it is that it doesn't hold back. It finds a place for everything. But not all movies can do that and no movies should copy others just because people liked those. You can't force a movie, it either happens or it doesn't.
As for the blood... I haven't seen a problem with new movies using "bright" red blood. Do you have any examples?

^^ mainly just some super low budget movies i have seen..some of them nail the blood and it looks perfect but others it just looks bad.. and now i know im talking about micro budget movies so i dont expect the acting or even the special fx to be great..but i dont care what the budget is.. blood is so cheap there is no reason why you cant get it to look realistic..

Agreed. I guess some directors don't really care about the quality / consistency of the look of the blood. But, I only complain if the director doesn't have something else to go on. Recently, a couple of morons at this website - The Horror Debate (just add the www 's and . com 's at your own whim), complained about the blood in Peter Jackson's Dead Alive. That's not really a problem if the director has the kind of energy that gets you to be excited or creeped out by a scene with blood (or without). Which I felt with Dead Alive, but I didn't feel with Cabin Fever. But The Evil Dead's blood looked very good, I thought. And a lot of the earlier 70's movies with bright red blood... the horror was a lot more than just blood and gore, so I completely forgive them for that.
