what are you even talking about, if i think a movie is boring then thats all i need to say, if a movie doesnt entertain me and i find it uninteresting then it bores me, i found the evil dead uninteresting and it didnt entertain me, it did nothing for me except bore me, therefore i didnt like it, why do you have to be so fucking annoying, we all have our own opinions, just end it

what are you even talking about, if i think a movie is boring then thats all i need to say Man - you think everything is boring. And who even cares if you think it's boring? What's so great about you? Who cares about what entertains you, especially since you feel so many of the modern classics are overrated? I think most horror fans don't even relate to you and your opinions. So there. why do you have to be so fucking annoying To someone like you? Because I have a brain. I don't know. But the way you go on, it's like you don't have one. we all have our own opinions, just end it And some of us actually have more insight than others. You're the one who can end this. You're the one who makes it this way. You refuse to ever explain your absurd and insidious "opinions." There are reasons why something "bores" a person. If you don't know why - than who fucking cares if you thought it was boring?

Some things are opinions. Some things are facts. I don't have any control over them. You have no control over them.
You're the moron, not me. Deal with it.

i actually listen to and respect everyones opinions, this is another one of your posts that defines ironic T - what is this obsession with irony you have all of a sudden? The fact that you keep trying to label everything as "ironic" doesn't make you sound any smarter. What, did you learn that word yesterday and you want to overuse it? Gosh you're sad. At least I'm a good horror fan. I don't spit on masterpieces in the genre like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Evil Dead because I don't understand them and "think" they're "boring." Sorry, T. I listen to the opinions of people who don't freak out just because they have no taste in horror (Okay THAT was wrong, I know - I just couldn't resist!) and I "call them on it" (I know THAT was wrong too, but I'll just do it this once and then it's over - I just want to get you back for all those times you thought you could say that to me and get away with it!). T - you really are the only one with a long-standing problem with me. Nobody else here has a problem with me. And if they do, they'll say it and that'll be the end of it. It's over, T. Face it.

why was it boring?? because not much happened, it was predictable, it just really never went anywhere, i can see how it might have been shocking to some people or disturbed some people back in the 70's, but watching it today it is very dated and just plain boring, plus the lack of an actual chainsaw kind of just ruins things, and no a movie doesnt need to have gore to be good thats not what im saying, but i na movie titles the texas chainsaw massacre, ya know it would be nice to see some people torn up by a chainsaw

FINALLY, some reasons. You should try doing this more often, T. You'll find people are easier to deal with then. There was a chainsaw in the movie. Didn't you see it? You can see it in the scene with Pam on the hook, the scene with Franklin in the woods, the scenes chasing Sally up to the house and the gas station, and the scene at the end with the 2 trucks. Predictable? You've got to fucking be kidding me. Sure the point wasn't that there were going to be a bunch of shock scenes. It's about a group of people being killed off, slasher movie style (aka- Friday the 13th), until one is left and she is psychologically tortured. That's the point. Not to kill people you don't expect to die. If that's what you mean by predictable, you don't know what horror movies are supposed to be. You can dig styles, but you'll never understand the point of a horror movie if you don't get over what you assume to be predictable. In slasher films, it's obvious who's going to die and who's going to live (and exactly when they're going to die and live). because not much happened A lot happened. You just don't know how to watch the movie. Once you get the style of the 1970's and the point behind the way the directors made these movies - you'll get why it moved the way it did and why "not much happened." This is the way horror was in the 1970's. It's atmosphere. You don't see much violence and there aren't a lot of dead bodies. The movie is more about watching what happens to the characters, where they go and the tension and the strangeness of it all. Not about torture and murder and blood/gore. I actually think you're very close to understanding this movie. If you've seen more than 30 horror movies from the 1970's, it won't take you long to understand what the 1970's were all about. You know what atmosphere is, right? And you know how important it is, don't you? it just really never went anywhere I don't exactly know what you mean by that. I mean, this is a horror movie. Not an epic action adventure drama historic mini-series... A lot of horror movies just stay in a confined space. Like I said, this movie is about insane people. I don't know what else you expected. But this movie delivered. To people who know how to watch it. i can see how it might have been shocking to some people or disturbed some people back in the 70's It's not really about being shocking or disturbing. People can make shocking and disturbing films by doing stupid, cheap things. I can take someone's cell phone and kill them and record it. WOW, how disturbing and shocking. Fuck disturbing and shocking. This film was smart and calculated. It used editing, camerawork, limited music, and a tight script with a lot of social commentary - blended them together and made a great experience horror film that is more about keeping you off-kilter. The movie works whether what you look for is style or substance. watching it today it is very dated and just plain boring Watching it today? Fuck today. Today in horror is bullshit. Nobody making horror films today tries nearly as hard as Tobe Hooper, Wes Craven, George A. Romero, John Carpenter, Larry Cohen, Joe Dante, and Dario Argento did in the '70s to make a great horror film today. Everything today is by-the-numbers. Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the innovator. It did things no one's done before. Name one movie today that's really doing something new? Ginger Snaps comes close (though it itself is a masterpiece). And the first season of Masters of Horror had some great stuff with amazing concepts and a great sense of style. Apart from that, it's 28 Days Later, and a select group of Asian horror films. I don't know what background you have in horror, but I can't even imagine how a good horror fan could be bored by this.

I agree with that defense of Chainsaw. But there are a few horror directors today that do put their heart and soul into their movies like Brad Anderson.

I'm not interested in what he's doing at all. Maybe when I'm rich and I can afford it, I'll buy all his stuff on DVD.
