I need some advice....
I bought a movie on Ebay. The photo of the movie was of the the 2-disc collectors edition. That's why I bought it. When it arrived in the mail, it was the single disc regular version. When I confronted the seller about this, I was told that nowhere in the description did it mention anything about being a collectors edition (which is true), but the photo was of the collectors edition. Do ya figure I got any recourse? Anyone, especially those more savvy on ebay than myself, feel free to offer up your two cents....

Well, I've known people (not well, just acquaintances) who bought from E-Bay, got completely screwed (overpaid, received bootlegs instead of legitimate studio releases, were told they were buying one thing and were sent another). And I don't know that 1 single one of them were able to get their money back. I don't even know whether they reported abuse or not.
I do think you can give the seller Negative Feedback. I believe.
I myself never use them. I can either never find what I want or the prices are too high. Or they force you to bid and there's no way you can outbid most of these freaks, some of whom have devices to automatically, electronically outbid you without even going online.

But is that all that Nec can do? I know I've been on Amazon dot com and just because a seller there has a lot of negative feedback doesn't mean you can't trust them. Or a lot of positive feedback mean they won't screw you.

i myself don't buy from people with lots of bad feedback, and i know others who do the same, so it does stop some people from buying from them.

Well that clearly makes you more Ebay savvy than I. My roommate used to order a lot of video games off of Ebay and never really had problems.

Sad thing is, you can't leave negative feedback anymore. They've changed the system...

Ebay is really screwing their sellers. If a seller is given neutral feedback, it's counted as negative. Hence, many of the seller's scores are going down.

I'm an eBay addict, I'm afraid. I have bought over 130 items since 2005. Most of the crap I buy I don't even use.
However, I am proud of my purchase of the official Banana Splits soundtrack on CD. Yeah, I'm a fan.
