Anyone familiar with the Clive barker story? The movie will be out early August and looks dynamite! Vinnie Jones plays a very bad man.

I'm looking forward to this one. It looks like it's going to be nice and bloody.

Unless Clive Barker tells me not to see this film, I could give 2 shits what Dread Central or Fangoria or Rotten Tomatoes or Rue Morgue says. The short story is so wicked and Vinnie Jones rocks so... I'm not expecting groundbreaking material but a simple 90 minute distraction from society/work/my cat/etc.

This was such a steaming pile of a bad movie experience.
The gore was well past the point of comedic, though the movie clearly took itself seriously. CGI was used to add even more gore, which only augmented the comedy (SPOILER: no need to show slow motion eyeballs flying at the camera)
The plot was lacking at best, and even had a SPOILER ridiculous Stephen King-esque ending where it was all because of monsters or aliens or whatever.
There was zero atmosphere. Zero. Every time they finally decide to slow things down to try and build some, it just feels like a slow scene in an action flick. There's no tension building, and my hands are making circular gesticulations begging the movie to get on with it.
Not to mention characters standing around screaming, camera tricks literally giving you at one point a painfully long and redundant shot that seems to scream "GET IT??!??!? GET IT?!??!?! YOU'RE LOOKING THROUGH HER EYES!".
Not to mention people being seriously hurt only to get up and behave normally, only to later on decide once more that the injury was actually serious.
This movie was garbage, in my opinion.
