And that's why opinions can't be trusted. Because yours is incorrect - and you refuse to explain yourself anyway, so you can't even argue against this. Start explaining your standards and then you can talk.
Horror is in such a shithole right now coming from America, France, England, Australia, etc., that Asia is kicking EVERYONE ELSE's butt! Audition, Uzumaki, Bio Zombie, Ichi the Killer, and Suicide Club are far superior to anything to come anywhere else in the world in the horror genre since 1998. Okay, Ginger Snaps holds the current Masterpiece of the Decade title for 2000-2008 and that's from Canada, but right after that, the best horror films all come from Asia or the 1st season of Masters of Horror.

No they weren't. They were excellent. Like I've said a million times, Asians mix genres. Get used to it. They're still making better films with better stories, smarter content, better visual styles, more original concepts.

alot of the times they try to get to smart or go to over the top and it just ends up being dumb, i wont stop watching asian horror but i have very low expectations for every one of them

Well I haven't seen very many Asian horror movies. But that's why it's amazing that the few I have seen have been of a quality so far surpassing anything else (other than GS) to come out of the horror genre since 1998. They are the only ones keeping horror alive.
And if you want to prove a point on this issue - I have advice. Use examples. Point out elements, scenes, cliches. Explain. Because that's intelligence. I can respond to that. Get in the habit of really talking on a message board. Open up.

ok well answer this, you are so against CGI, you claim you wont even watch the mist because of the CGI, yet yo said you liked ichi which had some terrible CGI, the blood in the one scene just looked absolutly terrible
the one asian horror movie i actually did like was 3 extremes, it wasnt great or anything but it was good enough

I think that it is time for Asia to move on from long,dark-haired ghost girls to something else. I would like to see a TCM-style asian film.Does anyone know of any?

I can't think of any. But if you're looking for slasher-type fare, they have a few movies about killers. Done in either a serial-killer type way, or a mystery detective kind of thing. ok well answer this, you are so against CGI, you claim you wont even watch the mist because of the CGI, yet yo said you liked ichi which had some terrible CGI, the blood in the one scene just looked absolutly terrible What scene? The only thing that I remember being CGI-ed was the face sliding down the wall. And one SHORT shot of something shooting out the boardroom door. Anyway, comparing Ichi the Killer and The Mist is not a smart thing to do. The Mist is supposed to be a serious horror movie with a FAKE LOOKING MONSTER. That is completely unforgivable. Ichi the Killer is a horror-comedy with ONE scene containing CGI and it was basically done for humor. So it's easily ignorable. Be smart, T. The Mist has to lose huge points when the monster, which is what the entire movie is about, looks as fake as it does.

ichi wasnt a comedy tho, it was just a dumb cheesy stupid movie
and of course the mist loses points for bad CGI, but that still doesnt stop it from being one of the best horror movies of the year, since you are a big review guy you should check out the reviews, it got alot of good ones, you call yourself a horror fan so do yourself a favor and check it out

ichi wasnt a comedy tho, it was just a dumb cheesy stupid movie It might be considered cheesy 25-30 years down the line, if the movie is considered slick and technically-proficient right now. And the film has a lot of comedic elements in it. Therefore, it's a horror-comedy. And it could only be considered "dumb" by someone who didn't pay attention. And since you keep playing this "I think Asian horror sucks" thing you've invented, it seems like you aren't paying attention. and of course the mist loses points for bad CGI I understand what you're trying to say. And we're clearly on the same page about this. But you need to see this in regards of how CGI is affecting the horror genre. This movie could easily have built a monster. It's 2007 (by the time the movie came), the FX people have had DECADES of working with technology and animatronics and so-on, so-forth. There is no excusing their choice to use it, and the movie has to be docked points for the filmmakers' idiocy as well as how bad the monster looks. that still doesnt stop it from being one of the best horror movies of the year Well... horror is such a bad place right now, that "best horror movie of the year" doesn't mean anything. What's the difference? you call yourself a horror fan so do yourself a favor and check it out I'm not only a horror fan, but a serious horror fan. And I'm smart enough to do the right thing. Which I am.

i agree, but its dumb to pass up a good movie for one bad choice, and some of the cgi wasnt terrible, although like you i hate it all when it comes to monsters and blood
I'm not only a horror fan, but a serious horror fan. And I'm smart enough to do the right thing. Which I am.
like i have said, look all around the net, you will see ALOT more good things about it the nbad

That's because people's standards have lowered. I mean, you can't compare almost anything that's come out this decade from the great horror movies of the 70's, 80's, and most of the 90's. You have to separate this decade (starting with 1999) completely from every decade before it. That's how low horror has sunk.
So you can't trust those people.

well you have to stop being so picky then, its only a movie, if you dont like it what do you waste, 2 hours of your life?? i mean as much as i love horror if i got the time im usually willing to give just about anything a shot, i can usually find something good in a movie

well you have to stop being so picky then Being critical of CGI is not being too picky. It's being wise, specific, and effecient. Yeah it's a movie. In an ailing genre. And it's not helping it out any.
