Where the hell did you get a cane toad!? I want one dammit! ;D
Anyways, my house was like a damn farm yard growing up. Here's the pets I can remember having: 2 labradors, 1 orange cat, 1 angora rabbit, 1 gerbil, 1 guinea pig, 2 iguanas, 1 alligator snapping turtle, 1 plated lizard, countless leopard frogs and garter snakes. I still have 1 of the dogs, the alligator snapping turtle, and my iguana.

I used to spend a month every summer when I was a kid visiting my favorite cousing down in texas. We used to spend a lot of days fishing and catching frogs/turtles/crayfish or whatever we could find down by this little river north of his house. I found a baby alligator snapper cruising around on this beachy area one day and I smuggled it back home when I left in a tupperware container filled with water. After a couple days I finally convinced my mom to let me keep him in a spare aquarium we had out in the garage. That was over 15 years ago. I named him "Magellan" and I've had him ever since. He's friggin' huge now, but I have no idea how much he weighs because it's hard enough getting him outta his tank more or less getting him to calm down enough to sit on a scale. Definitely one of the coolest looking animals you'll ever see!

Yeah his tank is pretty big. The last time I had to upgrade it set me back about $1500 or so. As far as food, I try to give him a variety. He gets his "turtle flakes" twice a day and twice a week I give him some chicken or hamburger. I've got a friend who works in a pet shop and a couple times a month she'll give me some goldfish for cheap that I drop in his tank for him to snack on at his leisure. I've got some pics of him so I'll scan them into my laptop and upload them someday for ya to see.

Yeah he won't eat those flakes that most places sell, those stupid thin green ones. I found a place that has some different ones that are thicker like a potato chip and they are flavored like beef. He seems to like those quite a bit. I used to give him adult leopard frogs and salamanders, but I don't have time to be out trying to catch them anymore and they made such a damn mess in his tank. A couple of my buddies are into fishing so occasionally I'll get some leftover nightcrawlers from them from time to time too. Anyways, I'll try to get around to scanning those pics into my laptop sometime later this weekend so you can see him. Lol, you won't believe how big he is. Like I said, I've never weighed him, but I'd definitely guess from lifting him out to clean his tank and his shell that ol' Magellan has to be at least 90 lbs. these days. The vet I take him to once a year says that he's still probably got 10 years to go until he reaches maturity! Friggin' fatty.........................

yea i could only imagine how big he is...cuz theres some lakes and ponds around here where i have seen full size snappers...you can tell the real old guys by there heads and shells...look like they have been around since the dinosaurs...but im pretty sure alligator snappers get quite a bit bigger then the regular snappers.. and i know what you mean abou the tank getting a mess..tadpoles really make a mess with intestines all over the place..but thats how them snappers like it messy, dirty and nasty

I had an iguana when I was 15, but it was very boring. I ended up trading it to a friend for an ounce of weed.

I have two goldfish named Donnie and Gretchen, and when I was, like, 8 or so, we had guinea pigs given to us by a friend who had too many guinea pigs. I can't even remember what their names were.

I have two rabbits, named Cobain and Trigger. I also have a chinchilla named Chewy. I've had quite a bunch of pets over the years. But, my bunny, Cobain is definitely my favorite. He always runs circles around my feet, it's so cute.

I like to sit and watch him a lot as I find it pretty relaxing. Plus I just think they look so damn cool. It's like having a little dinosaur living in your house. The only down side is having to clean the tank. They're pretty messy critters.

laz 3 ferrets..i have never actually really seen a ferret other then in the pet shop..do they have more of a personality like a cat or dog or are they more like a rabbit?? They don't all have their own distinctive, unique, one of a kind personality like a dog or a cat. They have their own personality as a kind of animal. And that is- jumpy, wild, playful (but more with each other than with people), and sneaky. They have a nasty habit of taking things and hiding them somewhere. And they always have at least 3 or 4 special places to hide things in. I've had bags of candy, bags of Ramen noodles, audio cassette tapes, and tons of other things go missing. Open up the broom closet door and- it's like Christmas! Except it's all stuff you already own that they stole from you. do they get along together? When they're sleeping, they'll sleep right next to each other. When they're awake, they don't fight, but when they play, they bite. And they bite each other pretty hard, but they don't break the skin. The biggest problems are if they have adrenal disease, the bigger ferrets (always male - female ferrets are smaller and don't bite as much) will bite other ferrets while they sleep. And again, they bite hard, but they don't break the skin. Also, sometimes bigger ferrets will grab hold of a smaller ferret's head and drag them across the room. Which is obviously a very disturbing sight. I'd say I've seen it happen at least 9, 10 times in 4 / 4 and a half years. But when they're really wound-up or excited, they bite everything in sight. You can tell this by watching them, if they're running around really fast chasing a toy or another ferret, or if they're just leaping up to jump on top of something. Also, they'll bite if they smell something they decide they want to bite into (like your ankle, if you just got out of the shower) or if you're holding something that makes noise, like a squeaky toy. I had a ferret bite me until he broke the skin one time when I was holding a squeaky toy. They must really hate the noise. As for 'how' they get along together, they mostly don't notice that there are other ferrets around. They sniff everything constantly. Which means if they ever noticed there are other animals, they'll forget about them, then notice them again with their nose. Some of them do have special personalities. For example, one of my ferrets always follows me around when I'm in the kitchen, where I cook and keep the canister of raisins, which they love. He always stares right up at me, looks me in the eye, and just stands there for 60-75 seconds at a time and waits for me to do something. Some ferrets don't run around as much, some run around more often than the others (for example, the ferret I have who is the fattest is always twice as rambunctious and energetic than the other 2).

Ferrets are carnivores, and carnivores(at least mammals) tend to be fairly intelligent. It comes from having to track, stalk and kill prey, while avoiding predators themselves.
A lot of people think of them as rodents, but they are more closely related to dogs and cats, than rats and mice. They are actually in the weasel family which includes otters, minks, wolverines, and badgers. In the wild their natural prey would have been rodents, snakes, rabbits, and small birds--you definitely don't want to keep them around those types of pets, but they get along really good with dogs and cats. They do tend to be very energetic though, which will usually end up annoying an older dog, and most cats. People used to use them for pest control(like cats) and for hunting rabbit and other burrowing game. Sometimes they are used for running wires and cables in places not easily accessible by humans.
Then again mice and rats aint so dumb either. They get a bad rap because they are mostly seen as pests, and disease carriers but they are really smart, playful, and make really good pets. Domesticated rats and mice are actually very clean too. The simple truth about wild rats, and mice, and even cockroaches for that matter is that they are only as filthy as the environment they live in. More often than not, those conditions are caused by humans.
It's kind of like how people toss pigs into a mud pen, force them to live in their own shit, and then accuse them of being nasty. You rarely see ferral hogs or wild bores that are anywhere near as filthy as livestock pigs--lol pigs actually make very good housepets too.
Ok, that's probably all you never wanted to know about the animal kingdom, so I'll shut up now.

We (my roommates and I) have 2 cats that get along perfectly with the ferrets and the other cats just don't like them. But yeah, the key with dogs is that the younger ones like ferrets more.
