Kudos on Tecmo Super Bowl and Battle Toads! Man those were great times! I used to spend a fair amount of free time playing video games, but in the last 2 years or so I've kinda lost interest. Partly because I'm in my mid twenties now and don't have the time, and also because I'm not thrilled about how much the next gen consoles cost these days. In fact I don't know if my XBOX has been turned on once in the last 12 months.
Anyways, for fav console I'm gonna go with the NES as well. I was a kid back then and I just remember all the sleep-overs with friends staying up all night playing a game until we beat it. Those were some good times..............Besides, when I had a PS2 I had to replace the damn laser device 2 times in 1 year. Not very good quality. I switched to the XBOX after that, and I've been pretty happy overall, but I really have never warmed up to the gigantic controller.
I guess if I had to pick an all-time favorite game I'd go with the Resident Evil series. Great graphics, really fun gameplay, memorable characters, and you even had to think a little bit to advance through the levels. Plus I always thought it had good replay value.

o yea how could i forget about resident evil..another one of my alltime fav series..some puzzles were ridiculously hard but they always had fun action and a really good story..i think my fav might be part 2..i really loved resident evil 4 for its gameplay..but it lacked alot in the story...as far as all the others..but when a new resident evil comes out i may be forced to buy a ps3 or xbox 360..really not much of an xbox fan tho..i have actually never had probs with my ps2..my brother had one since it came out and there has never been a prob..i bought a slim ps2 prob about 4-5 years ago..whenever they came out and never had a prob either..but yea nothing can beat nintendo..i can remember playing tecmo super bowl for hours and hours straight with my friend..the computer was terrible tho i would always win like 60-0 haha but 2 player was great..i remember times i played that game all throughout the night with my friend..i love how when your running on offense and then all a sudden the defensive guy gets a huge speed burst and flies down the field haha

To be fair to the PS2, I had that system back when I still was a smoker, and that probably had A LOT to do with the laser device crapping out twice. Haha! One more thing about Resident Evil; I always thought that series had some of the all time best boss characters! The only video game I ever thought was actually a little spooky to play alone in the dark. And yeah tecmo bowl was just so fun! Like you said, the huge speed bursts for defensive players..........gotta love it. Same with the ability to slide and tackle someone from like 15 yards away. I remember playing with my friends and making rules about not being able to play with certain teams 'cuz there were certain players that were just absolutely unstoppable. And finally, how could anyone forget the great cut scenes after a touchdown?! Or the ridiculous "halftime show?" Ahh, the memories.....................

yea remmemer barry sanders and bo jackson they were unstopable on offense..and lawrence taylor on defense..i loved how also sometimes you would get into a mode where everyone just bounced off of you haha..another great thing was picking the same play..where the entire defense would just man handle the offense..i loved when they fumbled and you knew you had a defensive TD..and like you said the TD cut scenes were great..they all were tho..when the defensive back would jump straight up like 30 feet in the air haha..that game was so fun i used to just have fun simulating seasons to see who won the super bowl..i actually found a website where you can play it an i was simulating seasons a few months ago..but nothing can beat playing that game with a friend..prob the best 2 player game i ever played..i miss that one

I forgot about "picking the same plays!" Got into more than 1 scuffle with friends because of that! I to used to simulate entire seasons to see the outcomes...................Wow I was such a nerd! Haha! BTW, you ever play a game called Splatterhouse for the Sega Genesis? You got to be a hockey masked dude that looked exactly like Jason Voorhees and you'd go around killing various monsters and zombies with weapons like a baseball bat, chainsaw, etc. That one was always a guilty pleasure of mine.

I prefer PC gaming, but the NES is my all time favorite console.
I wanted a PS3 when they were first announced, but I don't know if I want to spend that kind of money on a system that isn't doing too well. It's kind of like the Dreamcast; awesome system, but limited by lack of interest from consumers. I may end up getting a 360, just for Dead Rising. The Wii doesn't appeal to me at all, because it's just a souped up GameCube, with a gimmick controller.
I guess my favorite game is Final Fantasy XI. I've been playing it for almost four years, and I'm still finding new stuff to do. I've made a lot of good friends playing it too. The time investment required to really play it is a drawback though. If I had of known just how much of my free time the game would eat up, I probably never would have given it a chance.
For non-MMOs I really love the Legacy of Kain series. LoK is one of the coolest storylines I've ever seen in a video game. It just goes to prove that action/adventure games can be every bit as deep as an RPG.

I don't know anything about today's modern games and gaming systems. I kind of checked out in 1997 or whatever. When Playstation and Nintendo64 were warring.
I was really into Nintendo, Super Nintendo, and Atari in the early-mid '90s. Especially the Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter 2 Turbo / Super Street Fighter, and the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers games.

A lot of people hate that movie but I always kinda liked it. What did you think?

Hated it the first time I saw it. The second time I liked it a little bit. Now, I'm waiting for August/September when Universal puts out the Double Feature with Part 2/Part III so I can finally have it on DVD in its' proper 2.35:1 widescreen.
I remember picking up on the atmosphere the second time I watched it. And of course, I always loved the idea of the masks as an element of fear, the Silver Shamrock TV jingle, the idea of this town being kind of famous for its' Mask Factory / Production Line (reminds me a little of Motel Hell) - that people would come from (?) around to Tour the factory, the bizarre special effects, and that unforgettable (for me, anyway) eye socket death scene in the hospital.
I do have it on VHS-taped off of AMC during 2003's (I think) marathon of the Halloween movies or whatever. During their Fright Month or whatever they have. I have been telling myself to re-watch it since whoknowswhen. I may do it this week.

Yeah I hated it the first time I saw it too. It was on tv and I was expecting Michael Myers so i was disappointed. But the second time around I really thought it was a cool idea for a movie. I agree with you about the atmosphere and the use of the masks as a death tool. Both were really great IMO. And yes, the eye socket death you speak of is truly unforgettable!

By the way, did you happen to think the film was more than a little reminiscent of Fulci's The Beyond?

COUNTER-STRIKE nuff said'
But for consoles I loved SNES the most because thats when RPG's started to get really fun. PSX was also great.
My favourite console game is Splinter Cell:Chaos Theory, on PS2 or GameCube. But the older consoles from NES to N64 and PSX will always hold a special place in my heart just because gaming was so much funner back then.

I was obsessed with Super Mario World (?) on SNES. Was that the one? With the big map and you start on Yoshi's Island and you have to go through the level / areas, finding Keys and when you put them in the keyholes, you Access additional areas of land on the map which lead to other castles and bosses...

Dude, that game(Splatterhouse) is originally on arcade, I use to play it in the theatre all the time. It only had like one or 2 buttons lol but it was great in the day. It's actually based on Re-Animator, even though no Re-Animator characters appear.
