If you've never heard of this show, you have to check it out now. It's an internet TV show about a pro gamer and his awesome life, the 2nd season just started. www.purepwnage.com

I agree with Lazario. This "internet lingo" is just ignorant. It's just a way for lazy people who think they're "cool" to communicate.

You guys should watch the show, then I think you'll understand.
And pwnage is not a word, it's just a joke. Oneday someone tried to type "own" and accidently typed "pwn"... but either way the show is a comedy about a "pro gamer" who is obsessed with gaming and "pwning n00bz"..
So please watch the show and leave your hatred for the "word" behind. It is free afterall and 10x better than any television show (besides Kenny VS Spenny)

Actually, I don't think we hate the word. It's... well, who even uses the word "own" that much? It's the idea of using those slang terms just so you can say the words they're covering more often.
I have nothing against the show. It might even tap into some brilliance- though I hardly think satirizing electronic gaming is hardly ambitious or even that interesting.

It's not a satire on gaming, but on gamers. Sure you probably have to be into games to find a lot of it funny, but the whole idea is you're watching a show about some loser who thinks gaming is the most important thing on the planet. So is it any wonder that someone who thinks "Pro Gaming" is a job would use words like "Pwn" and "n00b", almost non-stop and in real-world situations? but people who do play online games use the word pwn a lot, because shit-talking makes games fun.
