I really like Steven Wright, but I also really enjoy the works of Jim Gaffigan and Carlos Mencia.

Kathy Griffin. Nobody knows how to make a crowd laugh until they hurt so bad, they need an ambulance like she does. She is without question the funniest comedian on TV right now.

Wanda Sykes definitely deserves some mention. Also, Henry Rollins. And, no I'm not one of these weird fans of this Blue-Collar Comedy tour thing, but I do think that guy holding the drink and cigarette is very funny. Ron White?

LOL Do you mean this Henry Rollins? www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3djWrn_90sHe has become more of a comedian over the years, and he does it well. I saw him do a spoken show in Atlanta a few years ago. I recommend seeing him live if you ever get the chance. Even if you have to drive to a real $hithole like Atlanta to do it. Still I miss him doing some of his older, more serious stuff. Back then he had a really good mix of humor and anger in his stuff. Today he's more funnyr, and a lot less hardcore. I like his style more than Jello Biafra's, but Jello really hasn't changed all that much. Of course Jello was never too serious to begin with. I've always thought a collaboration between the two would be awesome.

I actually like him as well. I don't really get why he attached himself to those other goons. He's much better.

I try to catch his show on IFC whenever I can, but it's usually on at ridiculous hours. I'm also a big fan of his work in Rollins Band and Black Flag.

I like Black Flag before Henry really. He really brought a lot of changes to the band that weren't really needed imo. Not that he did a bad job though, I just liked their early style more. Keith Morris was the best singer they had, and the Circle Jerks ended up being the band Black Flag should have been.
I don't really blame Rollins for the way Black Flag ended up anyway. He wasn't the one making decisions, or even offering an opinion very often. Greg Ginn was always the creative force behind the band, and he tried to experiment too much with Rollins. They never really established a sound during the Rollins years, because he kept trying to go in a new direction.

I also really like Rita Rudner. The way she talks onstage during her comedy routines is funny all by itself, but the way she also delivers her jokes is very unique.
Sabrina Matthews is also a favorite of mine. And Elvira Kurt, even though I've only seen her 1 Comedy Central special over and over again. "Let the one-eyed bastards play."

George Carlin, Lewis Black, Wanda Sykes, and Dane Cook are always awesome. Lewis Black is okay, aside from the fact that he screams every other sentence. I fear that during one of his acts he'll burst a lung!

I know what you mean, Piggsy. I think he's just 'okay.' Smart. But I don't like the way he does his comedy. Too many outbursts about little things. "BOTTLED WATER!!!!!!!!" I was thinking... "You Need Therapy."
Love Dane Cook though. Good mention, May. Forgot about him in my list. Very funny and irreverent. And hot.

Well, he's not "laugh out loud" funny, but a lot of the things he's said were clever. He's an actor now, so he's not doing standup. I liked his standup stuff.

Dane Cook was really, really funny back in the late 90's before he became mainstream. Back then he looked all "punked" out and did a lot of edgy vulgar material (Christ Chex?). Then he watered down his material, went shopping at Abercrombie & Fitch, and got a 200 dollar "I just got out of bed" haircut. He's now to comedy what Avril Levigne is to music. Blechhh!

I'm not "into" her or anything, but what is Avril Lavigne to music?

Avril = wannabe, poser, fake, more image than content/talent, etc.

What makes her anymore a poser / fake than the other people she works with / around?
