Creepshow has Barbeau and the cockroaches but my pick goes to Darkside. The "Lover's Vow" segment is my favorite.Just lacking a little in the tunes department but otherwise...very entertaining.

I remember that movie... My favorite bit of that movie was clearly the part with Deborah Harry as a witch.
But Creepshow is king of the anthologies. With, in my opinion, the vastly underrated and fucking brilliant Tales from the Hood in 2nd place.

I'm voting Creepshow, but Tales From the Darkside is a close second. John Carpenter's Body Bags is worth mentioning too.

Went with Tales Of The Darkside but I do love me some Anthology Horror.
Especially the Amicus stuff from the 70's (Tales From The Crypt, Vault Of Horror).

Exactly."Lover's Vow" is friggin brilliant. Tales From The Hood is pretty wicked too. My favorite from that is the story with the bigot politician who moves into the house inhabited by those killer dolls. My favorite from creepshow being "They're Creeping Up On You".

Tales From The Hood is pretty wicked too. My favorite from that is the story with the bigot politician who moves into the house inhabited by those killer dolls. That was fairly twisted. That was the scariest of the four segments. But to me, the best was "Walter." I'm not sure that was the name- they all had names. It says, in the End Credits, what they all were named. But, the one about the boy who tells his teacher there's a Monster in his house and the teacher doesn't believe him. Then, there's a twist. And about a minute later, there's another twist. And about a minute later, there's another twist... For a segment of a movie that's probably 25 minutes long, I was surprised that they managed so many good, functioning, effective movie twists. It was genius, actually. As was the fourth segment- "Hard Core Convert."

Well, I'm sure that it isn't in either Creepshow (1) or Tales from the Darkside.

But the original Creepshow will always be the most satisfying anthology horror movie.

Anyone seen "Necronomicon" with Jeffrey Combs? Easily belongs in this discussion.
