It wasn't until recently that I saw this 1921 classic. I must say, I was surprised by how creepy and effective it was. Max Schreck was fantastic as Count Orlock, creating an icon of the genre. I usually find horror movies from that area a bit hokey and laughable, but this was great filmmaking.

Yeah, for a movie made over 80 years ago, it's still creepy as fuck.
And Max Schreck is one of the best all-time screen vampires.

I like vampires when they're Nosferatu-like, instead of the charming eccentric Bela Lagosi portrayed.

Same, as much as I like Bela and Christopher Lee's vampires, I prefer mine to be ugly, mean, vicious animals.
