yea its deff worth a purchase..very fun movie to watch with some pretty extreme gore scenes...they did over hype it tho by calling it the best slasher in the last decade..i deff dont agree with that but i cant see anyway you wont like it..the ending is also kind of surprising..but of course i wont ruin that for you

I love how they used one of my favorite Marilyn Manson songs for the opening credits. It works great!

Which tune? I'm also a fan! I've seen shots of the girl getting a belt-sander to the face but am really waiting for the guy getting his jaw ripped verticallly!

I put this in the same category as Feast, a blast to watch and definitely worth buying.

Isn't Hatchet supposed to be what the filmmakers called "old school"? How is Marilyn Manson old school?

Isn't Hatchet supposed to be what the filmmakers called "old school"? How is Marilyn Manson old school? "Hatchet" brings old school horror into today's generation, which means updating certain aspects of it. Admittedly, Marilyn Manson was more of a sensation in the 90's, but the song still fits well with the scene.

So you're saying the movie is new school, but Marilyn Manson is old school?
Okay wait, scratch that. I don't even like the phrases "new" or "old school." Forget I ever even said them. I like the song too, so it's cool. But a lot of people don't really want popular music in their horror movies. I'm sorry the movie feels it has to bring anything to today's generation. Today's generation wants to change everything about horror when almost none of the movies from this new style are good.
And it's a cliche that today's horror movies have to have popular rock or metal songs. It's played out. It was played out when Darkness Falls did it, 4 years ago. I think most people, who love and care about horror, want to see something more original. Since music is one of the most important elements to a horror film.

Just watched it last night after months of waiting...
Great sound, story, and awesome gore.Neat ending too. My only beef was that I found it a little too funny for my tastes. Hot babes as well.
6.5/10

I agree malbowski, sometimes the humor was just too much. I couldn't take any of it seriously. Of course, the movie's still awesome, but I was hoping for at least a little bit of straight-laced horror.
Some of the music used, especially the bus trip to the swamp ride, was groan-inducingly bad. Good thing the kill scenes more than make up for it!

Going with Vinnie Price, I have to say that I enjoyed Feast more. A little more mean but both are gory as hell!

Honey Pie hopefully has a little payback coming to her. The dialogue in Feast is some of the best I have ever heard, especially from Bozo.
