There's been a few low-budget Slashers set in camps in recent years but they mostly blow.

100% agree.. like movies with the camp setting
the 80's is deff the best decade for camp movies..but i would love to see a new good movie with the whole camp setting

I think the whole camp movie died off because nobody really goes to those summer camps anymore. At least not where I live. Kids nowdays are pretty much too obsessed with technology for that kind of thing. I think that the horror genre will keep moving closer and closer in that direction. Could be a good thing, but it also could be a really, really bad thing.

My summer camp experience sucked so I was praying for a maniac to show up and help me escape! I was also a little young for a panty-raid as well.....life's so cruel!

Oh...I thought by "camp," this was about campy horror movies (like Motel Hell). My mistake.

Or even a redo of "Slumber Party Massacre"? Probably wouldn't fly today (at least in theatres) and has a formula so simple that I'm sure some studio would fuck up Big-Time!

Haven't seen that movie yet. But it's also out of print on DVD.

That sucks.I also am having a shitty time trying to get "Cannibal Holocaust". On a lot of things it's almost as if North America gets the shitty end of the stick regarding DVD's.There are cool Phantasm and Hellraiser box sets that are meant for overseas(Region 2). I'll probably get an "all-Region" DVD player next. I like Slumber Party Massacre partly because of all the shit it went through getting released.Tons of bad press from the media and feminists.Yet it was directed by a feminist. Another classic example of how entertaining a simple storyline can be.

Slumber party Massacre is worth checking out. Part two is as well.
Ever seen Summer Camp Nightmare? I caught it on HBO once when I was a kid, and loved it. The Simpsons spoofed it once too I believe. The plot was basically that a camp is run by a religious nut, who wants to prevent all fun, and force the kids to watch televangelists. So the kids do the only logical thing. They take over, and start killing off the counselors and each other. Chuck Connors was the head camp counselor.

Tell me about it. I really wanted to get Munchies on DVD. But the entire New Concorde/New Horizons DVD line (Roger Corman's direct to video horror movie line) were made out of print when Disney bought out their company. I haven't seen Munchies in over a decade and a half. My only hope now is YouTube. I also am having a shitty time trying to get "Cannibal Holocaust". Are you trying to buy from WalMart or something? I had mine from Amazon.com. Expensive, but, at least I knew I could get it. On a lot of things it's almost as if North America gets the shitty end of the stick regarding DVD's. There are cool Phantasm and Hellraiser box sets that are meant for overseas (Region 2). I'll probably get an "all-Region" DVD player next. I was also told that Anchor Bay's Cemetery Man and Troma's Stendhal Syndrome DVD's have vastly inferior transfers to Italian (and maybe Spanish, too) DVD companies. The thing I was freaking out over was that Region 2 was about to get a Special Edition for Creepshow. Now, it's been delayed. So, you know, I don't feel that bad on missing out. Because I know until it's un-delayed... we're both missing out. I like Slumber Party Massacre partly because of all the shit it went through getting released. Tons of bad press from the media and feminists. Yet it was directed by a feminist. Another classic example of how entertaining a simple storyline can be. Yeah, I heard about that. Both the director and writer were feminists. And from what I hear, lesbians.

Cheerleader Camp with Leif Garrett and a few decent looking ladies.More funny than scary but the story and ending are both decent.
Sorority House Massacre - basic rip-off of Slumber Party. Worth checking out though.

I would buy Cheerleader Camp from Amazon or one of the other sellers there if it was $8 or cheaper. And only if I could also get Return to Horror High along with it for about the same price or cheaper.
I got this thing about companion-buying. I always like a DVD I buy to have a sidekick (Amityville Horror + Burnt Offerings, Cat's Eye + Wolfen, City of the Living Dead + House by the Cemetery, etc)

Perhaps. When was it made? Because he was also in one of the Killer Tomatoes movies.

Return to Horror High screened in '87 and I believe the Killer Tomatoes sequel he was in showed up in either '88 or '89.

Return to Horror High screened in '87 and I believe the Killer Tomatoes sequel he was in showed up in either '88 or '89. In that case, he was on Roseanne's show before Killer Tomatoes, and on The Facts of Life (if I'm remembering correctly- he was on that show, too) before Return to Horror High. If...tv experience counts at all in where he was first seen / discovered.
