Sorry, these are the only two that stick out in my mind.(I'm sure there are others!) Reggie has always been my favorite. Undead Ladies-man, Ice Cream Vendor,skullet,hemi-cuda,quad-shotgun.... need I say more?!

Ash all the way. I've always thought Ash vs Leatherface would be a good fight.
Speaking of which, how about Lefty from TCM2? He was a pretty cool hero.

^^^ Good pick, T. I love that movie. Anyways, don't know if you'd consider either of these two true horror, but they've got some horror elements so here goes............. Ripley from the Alien(s) franchise -- Always thought she was cool because she's just a run of the mill human being pulling off superhuman feats by battling those nasty Xenomorphs. T-900 from Terminator 2: Judgment Day -- Not a big Arnold fan, but he's perfect as the badass robo-bodyguard in this movie. His dust-ups with the T-1000 are some of the most epic ever to appear on film.

I don't believe there are "Hero"es in horror. There are simply main characters. And a LOT of them at that. T'd take me a while to come up with a favorite main character.

Totally forgot Snake Plissken, sorry people. I should have been more specific : Choose the genre-mainstay who entertains you the most. Lefty was pretty cool too, Lowkey.Loved that french- fry cabin. He still spits after he's skinned too!Pretty hardcore.

Would you consider Dr. Herbert West a type of "hero"?
Reggie and Ash VS. The Tallman, his accomplice Dr. West and a shitload of zombies/lurkers!!! Dr.West joins Reggie and Ash near the end. I smell BLOCKBUSTER!!!

Swamp Thing has never had a four-barreled shotgun blast to the old noggin though...
I consider West a good guy with twisted methods.

He was completely self-absorbed. When it comes to being a good guy, he's more of a sidekick. You never know whether or not you can count on him.
I don't think his being not-completely-bad makes him any kind of good guy. Plus - all the horror evil in the movies was always his fault.
