Yep, for sure. Plus with that knowledge, you can build/fix just about anything.

Never used a plasma torch yet. Have used a special type of stick in Arc Welding that sounded and acted like a light saber though.

Stick Welding aka Arc Welding> Tomato, Tomatoe. Maybe we have different terms. It was a stick used for cutting to be honest.I believe it was either green or orange and sounded awesome!
Carbon Arc maybe?

^^^Um, yeah I know stick/arc welding are the same thing. I was asking which PROCESS of stick/arc welding....................TIG, MIG, or Flux Core?
Although at this point, I'm not sure you were doing any welding............You can't use any type of stick welder to do any cutting................there's no arc on earth that has enough width to cut any type of metal so.............I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
And "carbon arc" isn't really a term, but I believe you're referring to either Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) or Shielded Gas "Tungsten" Arc Welding (SGAW)?

I guess Flux Core? I took this intro to welding course 2 years ago and haven't done any stick welding since. Our teacher used that neat stick to cut through mild steel(not sure of the gauge). I'm pretty sure that SMAW is mig welding and SGAW is tig welding.Like I said, we probably have different terms than you guys.Damn Yanks!!!
Maybe I'm just fucking the terms up myself!
