Anyone seen this film? Cronenberg generally kicks ass but I wasn't too fond of A History of Violence. This one is upposed to be about Russian Mob stuff so sounds good...

These new movies he's making sound like jokes. Not to mention that now he's practically taking David Lynch's hand-me-downs (Naomi Watts)

Watch it last night and dug it.
I don't get all the hate for A History Of Violence either, I think these last two movies have been really good.

A History Of Violence was just way to predictable for me..they showed the whole movie in the trailer and it was just never that interesting
at least for me

*SPOILER ALERT* My only real complaint with History was when he takes out the whole room empty-handed when he gets to his brother's place. These are supposed to be gangsters or hitmen, right? It was from a graphic novel so maybe I should show some leniency.

But to be fair, Cronenberg's style has changed a lot over the years. Each 2 or 3 movies he makes are radically different than those 2 or 3 before them. From low-budget exploitation to big-budget FX-driven horror to sophisticated weirdo thrillers to book adaptations to character dramas to Hollywood Oscar-events.
