Alright, I want to know... What's your number 1 favorite movie of all time?
Don't know? Think it's too hard to pick one... Take a bit, think about it, compare and contrast if need be, and get back here when you come to a decision.
As for me, I know what mine is.
Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988)

A Clockwork Orange. A runner up is RHPS, which I watch religiously.

2001: A Space Odyssey. Not because I like Sci-Fi. Because I dislike organized religion.

2001: A Space Odyssey. Not because I like Sci-Fi. Because I dislike organized religion. Wow. I thought that movie was about technology run amok and a sort of humanized, but still inhuman technology deciding people's fates (maybe I just made the connection and didn't know it). Haven't seen it yet, though.

If you've only seen "2001," I can definitely see how you'd come away with that, as that's what I thought originally as well. But if you watch the follow up (2010), and then go back and watch the ending to "2001", you'll see where I'm coming from with the religion angle. For my money, there's never been a better movie experience than watching these two films back to back. And that's coming from someone who generally despises all Sci-Fi. But that's the brilliance that's going on here. 9 out of 10 people that watch it THINK they're watching Sci-Fi because it's in space and there's spaceships and technology etc. But it's all really an illusion, or veil for what the purpose of the story really is. If you watch both, and pick up on what's really going on, you'll see what I mean. For those that don't, they still enjoy themself because both movies are visually stunning to watch. But that's just people; some like to think, some like to look at shiny things like diamonds.
