hey all, just wonderin' if any of you heathens is a fan at all of infamous "B" film director Russ Meyer. His movies are known for being quite strange, violent, cheesy, and starring women with um.................D-cup "talent." Anyways, some of his films you may of heard of include 'Faster, P*ssycat! Kill! Kill!, 'Mudhoney', and 'Black Snake.' anyways, just wonderin' what you all think about him and his work.
BTW -- my fav of his films has to be 'Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.' Not a horror film, but it deff is quite strange and has some pretty creepy qualities (can anybody say Supergirl? Ick!!). anyways, if you like "b" horror, or strange films by guys like John Waters, you should deff pick this movie up sometime and give it a watch.

I've heard of him. And I believe famous critic Roger Ebert wrote the screenplay for his film Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (is that the right title?). John Waters is something of a fan, in his film Polyester (1981), you can see a poster for Faster Pussycat in Elmer Fishpaw's office.

never heard of him...or any of the movies you mentioned Yeah, most people haven't. His movies were a really big influence on Rob Zombie and if you ever see any of Meyer's work you'll see Rob's telling the truth about that. Anyways, they're almost impossible films to find in a video store. A good place to check them out is to watch TCM from midnight - 4AM on Friday nights. You'll deff see some on there from time to time. I think you'd like 'em knowing how much you're into the low budget horror scene. They're not horror per say, more of suspense/drama/comedy/softcore porn? But they've got a lot of the elements in them that makes the low budget horror movie enjoyable.

I have to say I'm somewhat surprised to hear you've never checked out any of his work.
