Back in the early 90s they were new, and original. Compared to the hair metal scene that had been run into the ground, Pearl Jam was a breath of fresh air. Personally I never did like them. I got into thrash, speed, and death metal while hair metal was still huge. I didn't really start liking grunge until around the time Kurt Cobain killed himself. By that point death metal had become a huge joke too, and speed/thrash were pretty much dead. If you want to see why hair metal died check this movie out: tinyurl.com/25ls5u. This one is credited for the death of the genre, because most of the bands act like complete fucktards. It's really good for a laugh. Lemmy, Alice Cooper, and Megadeth are the only people in it that don't come across as dumb asses--Lemmy claims that Spheeris deliberately filmed him from far off to make him appear stupid though. The first movie is good. It's not idiotic like the second one: tinyurl.com/ysnc8j. The tracking is messed up for about the first 7 minutes, but it does clear up. I hear the third movie got good reviews at film festivals, but it's never been released. I did notice someone uploaded it on Google, so i'm planning to watch it soon.

Thanks for the Megadeth mention. They are my favorite band ever and have stood the test of time.Their new album kicks ass and I am seeing them in May. I would cut my left nut off with a spoon to meet Dave Mustaine. I'm not a stalker but I dig his story and his creativeness.
