Thanks guys. ;D I turned the big 2-3 today. Celebration-wise, today my siblings and I are going to see I Am Legend, and then tonight my friends are throwing me an 80's themed birthday party. Should be interesting.

Thanks guys! ;D I just got home from my party aaaaaaaaaaand it was awesome. I got some great presents too, my favorite of which is the barbie doll of Giselle from 'Enchanted' in that white wedding dress outfit. I'm gonna keep her in the box and display her somewhere. As it turned out though, I didn't get to see I Am Legend because it was sold out when we got there, so we saw Alvin and the Chipmunks instead. Cute movie

Yeah, apparently so. I just saw a commercial for it earlier today. It looked like Jason Lee was cast in the role of Dave too.

Yep. I was expecting to absolutely detest it. Instead, I found it pretty cute and good for one viewing------but I certainly wouldn;t ever watch it more than once if you want to hold on to your sanity.

So what the hell did they have Alvin and his buddies doing for 90 minutes anyways?

Basically they used them to make a statement about child stars and how too much work isn't good for them and how the entertainment industry doesn't care about anything but exploiting them. There's lots of chipmunk rapping.

I'm not really down with all these movies that CGI-in old TV show cartoon stars and make them ultra-hip and say stupid things like, "sweeeet!" and "baowhm chikka wa wa." That fucking grates on my nerves.
But it's just my opinion. My nerves are incredibly raw anyway.

Why does Hollywood have to tarnish all of my good childhood memories?!

Because they know that kids today don't know any better, nor are they picky about what they'll happily watch. And they know that these same kids will drag their parents along. So for every gullible child out there, the makers of a CGI Crapfest know that they will sell at least 2 tickets. Which adds up to lots of money for them to line their pockets with, and fans of the original be damned.
