FUCK!!! The original is in my Top 5 category of horror films. I read some shit on IMDB and it looks like they have some nice eye candy cast at least(Monica Keena, Tiffany Shepis, maybe Shannon Elizabeth). But I could really give two shits. The original was dirty-looking and low budget which I believe gave it a bit of charm. If they keep this one low-budget and out of theaters, it might be salvageable. I'm pretty hostile but am trying to keep a positive outlook on this. Anyone want to help me bring this production down?

well what movie isnt being remade nowadays??, i dont understand why they are hated so much, sure i dont care for them and most of the remakes nowadays are just big budget flashy looking pieces of crap, but its not like it is replacing the original, the remake has no outcome on the original at all, you can love the orignal and never even see the remake, i actually like when they remake older movies i like, just to see what they can do

i'm actually not opposed to THIS remake because i didn't like the original but i usually hate remakes. they should just make new original movies instead.

My problem is not so much about remakes in general but with the lack of imagination/originality coming from Hollywood these days. Night of the Demons was low budget to begin with so I would be more impressed with a low-budget,straight to DVD remake, which for all I know is what they are going to do so we will wait and see...

I haven't seen the original but I did watch 2 versions of that... I'm told it's a very famous dance sequence on You-Tube, with one of the characters in a black dress, dancing to some cult-favored college band who did dark music in the '80s. Think it was Bauhaus.
My problem with remakes at first was that they were remaking classics. Now my problem with remakes is that they're going to suck no matter what movie they're remaking. The Friday the 13th remake is doomed and the original wasn't that great to begin with. Now I'm just pissed that remakes are not only coming out so often, but that people are fucking Factory-Manufacturing these things! Plantium Dunes is practically "The House of Remakes." How the hell does that happen?
That's when you know this remake thing has gone TOO far!

Well said Laz. By the way, how is your viewing of Rob Zombie's Halloween going? I relate to your disinterest by way of any Harry Potter stuff or the Bourne movies. Something about them makes me not want to watch.
It is rare that we are on at the same time Shunty. Which province/time zone are you currently located on/at?

well i usually dont watch many theater horror movies, as you know i stick to low budget and direct to video stuff, so remakes dont really bother me i just usually ignore them like most other theater movies, although its true they should come out with more original stuff

The original was so horrible that this remake has a good chance of being good in comparison. If not it's going to be Troll 2 bad. I've always thought that if they were going to remake movies, they should pick shitty ones, that had potential though.
Remakes are just the modern fad in horror. In a few years they'll move on to some other gimmick. Night of the Demons was made when every second rate horror director was trying to turn their direct to video crapfest into the next big slasher. 3D seems to be trying to make a come back lately...

yeah i completely agree with that. i am in the middle of writing a remake of Night of the Werewolf myself. That movie could have been done so well. As for the time zone i am in Mountain time zone. Nowhere near Canada sadly. I love me some Canadian babes!
