i still have to see the orignal silent night deadly night
as for aja and roth im not a huge fan of either.. i can take them or leave them
and piggsy P2 really isnt worth your time.. its nothing you havent seen before..it has about 2 or 3 pretty cool gore scenes but thats about it.. i liked the whole idea of it but the "bad guy" was so fucking lame it pretty much ruined it.. seriously he was the sorriest killer i have ever seen in a movie..i mean she was trapped in the parking garage but since the guy was so fucking lame you never EVER get the sense that she is really in any trouble..you will actually prob feel bad for him if anything

Thanks, tsmooth. I heard some bad things about it, but I wasn't sure. Anyway, SNDN is a great film. I used to watch it all the time when I was but a wee lad.
Actually, just watch the sequel. 80% of it is recylced footage from the original. Plus, it features death by umbrella! Umbrella, man!

I liked part 2 but it's been so long since I've seen it. What didn't you like about TDR? Even Roger Ebert gave it a 3/4 star rating. I thought Zombie really showed his directing skills there...very stylish. I thought I explained that before. Oh well - here goes: The Devil's Rejects is not a horror movie. It's an action movie, a road-trip movie, a western, and a sex-comedy. But where's the horror? That's 1. Here's 2: the characters are idiots, the comedy is uninspired and stupid, the cameos in the movie are all wasted - nobody gives a good performance. Even the charm from Sid Haig and Sheri Moon Zombie from the first movie has worn off by now. All the scenes that would even resemble horror are ripped-off from Last House on the Left, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Bride of Chucky. The movie itself is inspired by Bonnie & Clyde and The Wild Bunch. I'm starting to think Rob Zombie doesn't have an ORIGINAL idea in his entire head. He ripped off the "Hit her" scene from Last House on the Left (did ya see the movie? I did). He ripped off the famous truck killing from Bride of Chucky - which funny enough, also has killers on the run having "good times" on a road trip and stopping to kill people along the way, plus the motel room scenes with the couples. Seriously - are you nuts??? 85% of this movie are people sitting around drinking or eating, telling dirty jokes. That's it!!! They break for the occasional gun fight or stick beating. But it's just a bunch of dirty jokes. That does not make a horror movie. I won't argue anymore. Saying Hostel is a very good movie and better than Aja's work speaks for itself. Yeah - it says I actually some intelligence about me. Thanks. Look, it's all about the structure of a movie. Hostel had a good build-up, knew what it was doing and how to achieve a good effect, and fucking delivered like Dominos. And hey... it was actually a horror movie. Not some piece of shit lesbian porno (I think most people will agree with me here, seeing as how there was no real nudity or sex scenes) disguised as a psychological thriller / horror film. And calling what Aja does "work"... Shows you got some problems. As a big fan of Hostel and High Tension, I have to call a draw. Aja seems to make serious films while Roth's films are more gore-crazy and surreal. Almost funny (especially Hostel 2). That's why I dig Zombie- he is a more balanced director knowing when to be funny, serious, etc. Rob Zombie is a rip-off artist. He takes amazing films, puts them through his "white trash" blender, and gets credit for making good films just because people liked what he is stealing from other movies. That's like saying "a remake is good" just because the original was good too. As for balance... House of 1,000 Corpses was a mess. But it did deliver some good scenes in the first half. But to show how careless he is with his films, the second half is almost complete crap with a few good scenes there too. I think he can't actually decide whether he wants to be funny or serious himself. I don't consider any scenes with Otis in his films to be at all serious. Casting Bill Moseley is a joke in and of itself. "Oh, look, it's: Chop Top!" H'y'uck! (Goofy laugh)

Chop Top was corny for sure. As far as rip-off artist goes, bull-friggin-shit! My dad is not a big movie guy but after seeing 1000 Corpses, he said he dug it because it actually felt like a movie. All the psychodelic-editing and other shit thrown in was entertainment. Pure and simple. Not every film has to change the world. Do people forget that this was his first film as well? Give him a chance for fuck's sakes.

"Yeah - it says I actually some intelligence about me. Thanks." I'm sorry but I have to point out how this sentence is so ironically written. Okay, now I'm done.

Don't pretend that calling it "ironic" makes my statement untrue. It does not.
And Mal - I gave him a chance. House of 1,000 Corpses was better than The Devil's Rejects. I give him credit for that much.
