It sounds very interesting. I'll probably catch it on DVD.

I haven't seen any advertisements. But I'll bet it's not all it's cracked up to be.
Though Wes Craven usually has good taste. After all, he really liked May and it was pretty good.

^^ well are movies ever what they are cracked up to be??
thats the only thing i worry about.. 90% of the time a movie is hyped up it feels like a big letdown after you watch it

well i mainly meant newer movies.. i mean all you hear nowadays is how this movie is supposed to be so great or better then the original or the best movie of the year and they are usually crap

Well, yes hype is often full of shit. But you sort of have to see the movie to know. Remakes are always a formula, so since you just mentioned remakes - it's different. But, hype is the same as a critic's review. You can usually trust some people, and others are often full of shit.
Of course, I personally know well that you can't trust someone's opinion all the time.

well yea i try to read as little reviews as i can.. i would rather go into a movie with no expectations and not knowing much about it.. i have just seen so many good things about this movie its kind of hard to ignore.. im sure i will like it but i dont expect it to be the best movie ever or anything like that
speaking of hype has any1 seen cloverfield?? that movie got was extremely hyped.. i have not seen it yet and dont really care too.. although i know i will check it out on dvd someday

I listen to reviews from horror fans or journalists but otherwise make my own decisions.New issue of Rue Morgue says that I Am Legend was shit so I will stay away.
Hype is def.getting out of hand. I waited how long for Hatchet just to see a Scream-style piece of shit. It also has one of the now overused "old-school horror" taglines. The only thing old-school about that turd of a film are the cameos from genre vets.
