cant say that i have....i never even heard of it..i just checked it on imdb and it seems to have gotten some pretty good reviews..maybe ill check it out sometime.. also let me say welcome to the board

Welcome, eraserfred! I like your choice of nickname. Eraserhead is an awesome movie. ;D As for Dead of Night, I have never seen it but it sounds interesting.

Haven't heard about this film from the 1940's. But, "Dead of Night" is the co-title (like Braindead for Dead Alive and the Gates of Hell for City of the Living Dead) for this Bob Clark film from '72:
