Haven't had a good political discussion in a while. For all you Obama supporters, what is your biggest issue? What should he go after first? Should he make McCain Sec. of Defense?Should I quit my job and go on welfare? Let's get some feedback.

if you have a job why would you go on welfare? also with obama: he's got more to deal with than any other president ever including FDR so i have no fucking clue. i guess the economy will probably be first priority.

Just being sarcastic Shunty and yes, we do have financial assistance(welfare) in Canada.
Let me quote Dennis Miller :
" We've had enough hate in this country over the last 8 years. Obama isn't my guy, I didn't vote for him but oh well.I'm not going to hate him. I wish him luck and let's fix some of these massive problems we have going on."
I paraphrased the last few words but you get the gist.
One big concern I have is border control, be it from overseas or Mexico(or us). Obviously, the economy gets first dibs but I would like to see some effective, reasonable changes to border security over the next 4 years.

Dennis Miller is a comedian. If people don't trust Al Franken, why the fuck would they trust this jackass? Who has a really bad track record in film, by the way.
No seriously, Dennis Miller is an idiot. He's not even funny.

Oh well, I like him. People don't trust Franken because he is a whacko. Please don't tell me that you find Bill Maher funny.Please.
Another Miller quote (on Hillary Clinton):
"I think she should have been the frontrunner. I mean, let's face it, she's been cheated on more times than a blind woman playing scrabble with gypsies". If that's not funny I don't know what is.

I can honestly tell you I have never laughed at a single thing Bill Maher has said. That's because he's more right than funny. He usually knows exactly what he's talking about, politically. Unlike people such as Ben Stein. Talk about 15 minutes of fame being up. "I think she should have been the frontrunner. I mean, let's face it, she's been cheated on more times than a blind woman playing scrabble with gypsies". If that's not funny I don't know what is. It's probably funny to people with certain prejudices. People who didn't pay attention to what the Clinton administration was doing unless it was an allegation of adultery. Certain things are just not funny. Either they're too serious or played out. The Clinton Sex Scandals are definitely played-out.

a. Dennis Miller swings to the right more than Ann Colter's strap on b. I'll quote the majority of America (sorry inbred hicks in the south): "Obama 08!"

Nice.Very nice.Let's not hold it against Dennis that he is a smart man.
I watch Fox News because it swings to the right but doesn't cheerlead for candidates unlike their liberal counterparts (ABC,NBC,CNN,etc.)

Nice.Very nice.Let's not hold it against Dennis that he is a smart man. Just because he's an opportunist who knows where to move-in does not make him smart. It makes him a weasel. Which anyone could have told us about him anyway just from watching his 90's stand-up routines.

yeah fox spent more time trying to pathetically make obama look bad rather than cheerlead, although they did their fair share of that. it just came to me that in his first day of presidency Obama should take fox news off the air.

That is borderline communism. China and Russia would do things like that.Let's not be like them, please.
I followed the election on both sides of the fence(CNN and FOX News) and can tell you that I enjoyed the FOX coverage more.It was a lot more objective and critical of both campaigns. Seeing guys like Keith Olbermann shaking their Obama pom-poms around was pretty sad. Believe me, I would not want to see cheerleading on FOX either. Any one-sidedness is bad, no matter the party.

Blah blah blah. Typical brainless righty response. "OH NO! COMMUNISM!" Never heard that one before. We know you enjoy Fox News but that doesn't mean it's good for the rest of the country.

Neither is banning/blocking stuff because you don't like it. And it was actually "socialism" that was the big catchphrase this election.

Mal, you're the one who said Communism. Not me.
And I know about the talks of socialism. And do you know what's bad about that? Some poor, defenseless RICH PEOPLE won't be able to afford to buy another billion-dollar yaght this month.
HOW could anyone live in a world like that? It's disgraceful, such a suggestion. Are we men or are we animals? Oh the humanity! Can't we all just get along?
And Shunty's the one who said "Ban Fox News" - again: not me. It just happens to be better for everyone if Fox News were to disappear.

the only two people i know who used to watch fox news regularly stopped during this election because the channel was so full of hate. in an election this important being 'balanced' isn't even possible when mccain/palin were the unbalanced ones that were spreading fear and hatred. of course people support one candidate and not the other, do you think people vote for two candidates?

No but people in certain positions are supposed to be impartial. They are supposed to report all the news and not just cherry-pick the news that supports their candidate. FOX was very critical of Obama and McCain as well. All the other networks were critical of McCain and just swung off of Obama's cock. Take "Joe the Plumber" for instance. He was one of the people whom Obama's tax plan wouldn't benefit. Except for FOX, all the other networks just attacked the guy to make him not look credible. Why? Because he called Obama on his tax plan and stumped him. If McCain was chumming around with, for instance, white supremicists leaders or supremely crazy religious nutjobs, you would want to know. Right?! So why are Obama's acquaintances off limits? Especially when one is a hate-monger(Wright) and another an ex-terrorist(Ayers). You have to admit that those guys are pretty shady characters. All I'm saying is that I think FOX is the best news network because it is critical to both sides and has some entertaining pundits at its disposal.

No but people in certain positions are supposed to be impartial. They are supposed to report all the news and not just cherry-pick the news that supports their candidate. FOX was very critical of Obama and McCain as well. That's because they didn't like him as much as they liked Mitt Romney. You knew that, didn't you?? Take "Joe the Plumber" for instance. He was one of the people whom Obama's tax plan wouldn't benefit. Except for FOX, all the other networks just attacked the guy to make him not look credible. Why? Because he called Obama on his tax plan and stumped him. Actually it's because he slandered all the people whom Obama's tax plan WOULD have benefitted. He literally said on national television that he works harder than anyone else and that he deserves a tax break. He was insulting millions of American workers who make less than him. If McCain was chumming around with, for instance, white supremicists leaders or supremely crazy religious nutjobs, you would want to know. Right?! So why are Obama's acquaintances off limits? Especially when one is a hate-monger (Wright) You're comparing white-supremecists to angry black men? Oh yeah, because groups of black guys in black hoods and sheets have been attacking white people for decades. A Time to Kill and Ghosts of Mississippi? Those movies swapped the colors around to be "politically correct," they're really stories about black people who terrorized white families and slayed white civil rights leaders and were part of corrupt black courts in America. Reverend Wright was right about a lot of what he said. He had the balls to come out and say it. He may have did it in an extreme way, but SO WHAT? Black people are still the targets of a lot of hatred and discrimination. But, ignore all that. Just go ahead and assume that he's just a bully picking on you because God knows, you've been the target of extreme hate and prejudice in your life. All I'm saying is that I think FOX is the best news network because it is critical to both sides and has some entertaining pundits at its disposal. It has some IDIOTIC pundits at its' disposal. Critical to both sides? Yeah sure. 1% critical toward the right and 99% critical of the left. FORGETTING however that they've been bitching and moaning about an America lead into economic DISPAIR by a Republican-run administration. Yeah- Fox News is so full of shit, I'm questioning what you say more and more each day because of your moronic defenses of the station.
