I'll try it again, hopefully it will stick this time: my ratings have to do with the quality of the movie. I subtracted the appropriate amount of stars for some bad moments, some sleaziness, some bad acting. But for the most part- it was interesting, well written, stylish, well acted, had decent special effects, was a little bit scary, was energetic, entertaining, was effectively paced, and turned in a few great scenes.
you dont have to talk like you are some hotshot critic that sees more then other people, all of those things are reasons why u liked the movie, and thats fine, i dont agree with any of them tho, it had nothing going for it

you dont have to talk like you are some hotshot critic that sees more then other people Thanks for letting me know that. I'm not acting like anything. I'm simply being perceptive. all of those things are reasons why u liked the movie HELLO, EARTH TO T - I didn't say I liked the movie. I said it was decent. It was a low budget direct-to-video horror-comedy. It sure as fuck could have been a lot worse. For a guy who says you watch a lot of horror movies, you should be more aware than you seem to be of things like this. and thats fine, i dont agree with any of them tho, it had nothing going for it As a low budget direct-to-video horror-comedy it had quite a bit going for it. When I first saw it, I hated it. But then I grew up and became wise to how the horror genre works, in all its' modern incarnations.

you take things way to personal, i love low budget direct to video horror movies as you know, but i cant think of one thing i liked about this one, which is why i asked you what you liked about it, all i needed was reasons because i was curious, i didnt need for you to go on some rant or take things so personal

i love low budget direct to video horror movies as you know, but i cant think of one thing i liked about this one, which is why i asked you what you liked about it What I liked about it is completely separate from what made it work. And remember- it worked decent. I didn't say it was great. I don't know what I liked about it, I'd have to go back and watch it again and take note of things I watch my favorite movies for. Or little things I like seeing in any movie. When I watched Jack Frost, I took note of several things that made it work very well. The fact that it was a little sleazy and the killer was obnoxious made the very-good aspect of the movie go down to - decent. So in the end, it's a decent movie. I like watching decent movies. But as for what I liked about it, as you say T- don't take it apart, right? I didn't. Not when I watched it. But if I have to remember it, I can surely tell you what worked. I got what I wanted from Jack Frost, because again- if you know what to expect from these kinds of movies, they usually do a lot worse. I got what I wanted because it was better than what I expected. you take things way to personal What do you mean? You know this already. We've covered this, quite a few times. Why are you saying it like you didn't already and like I haven't admitted to it? Methinks you're avoiding a bigger issue. all i needed was reasons because i was curious, i didnt need for you to go on some rant or take things so personal T, I've already told you many many times that what I like about a movie and how it actually works are 2 separate things. It's not MY FAULT that you keep ignoring that. So don't lay this on me. Call it a rant. Call it whatever you want. You're never right about me anyway.

its not 2 seperate things tho, if something works obviously you like that about the movie, lets say i saw a terrible movie but the atmosphere was great, well then i could say the movie was bad but it had good atmosphere, which would mean i didnt really like the movie but i liked the atmosphere, its all the same thing, all you are trying to do is act like you are a critic and know more about movies.

its not 2 seperate things tho Yeah it is. Not always, and, not for everyone. But it is. You just can't see how. if something works obviously you like that about the movie That's really not true. I don't like Re-Animator, but Jesus Christ look at how many people say it's a masterpiece. Hardcore horror fans, the mainstream, serious critics, film historians. It's clearly a great horror film. It even transcends all types of movie fans. It's been embraced by all types of people. But do I like it? Hell no. all you are trying to do is act like you are a critic and know more about movies. Incorrect, T. It's a case by case basis thing. As I've said many times. I don't talk about things I don't know about.

so who cares what other people think, grow a pair and say its a crap movie, you care to much about what other people think, its a very average movie and i dont really care for it, i could care less who thinks its great or a masterpiece

I already have a pair, T. But I consider myself fortunate enough to have a brain as well. Though I do know a lot of practical information and I can tell when most movies are good or bad, I don't know everything. I don't know what makes Re-Animator work, but something does and other people see it.
As far as caring what other people think... Do you HONESTLY believe that? Seriously. No, I'm not kidding T, SERIOUSLY? Do you believe I care what other people think?

It's true they don't know a lot about horror movies. I never said they were right when they were blasting great horror movies. But usually when they're praising one, they know what they're talking about.
