I've checked almost every major horror movie that I could think of made between the late 1960's to the early new millennium with his website. Most movies not there he didn't see. Unlike Leonard Maltin, Ebert only watches movies that come to theaters.
A lot of times yeah, he doesn't get the point. But read his reviews and you'll see he puts a lot of thought into what he says. I read his review of Romero's Day of the Dead and, I couldn't have put it better myself why that film stinks.
