Guest House Paradiso. You can see the whole thing here: youtube.com/watch?v=CHr1XaJCnckSimon Pegg is in it too. It's kind of like Fawlty Towers if Basil Fawlty was a completely evil psychopath on top of being an asshole.

That's not necessarily true. What about movies that seem better on the second, third, or fourth watchings? That's certainly happned to me.

it might seem better, but you still have to know if you liked it or didnt on the first viewing, there have been times where i have wated a movie and didnt know if i cared for some parts of it but as a whole i knew whether i liked it or not, i mean what would later make you realize if you liked it or not?? and im not trying to be a smartass im just wondering because its never happened to me, and the only movies i have ever watched a second time are movies i love, theres just so many movies out there i got no time ro rewatch them, i need something new

The original Night of the Living Dead. On my first viewing, I found it to be very boring and uninteresting. However, I felt compelled to give it another chance.
Ever since it's been one of my favorites.

Pink Floyd's The Wall is one I hated on my first viewing. It eventually ended up being one of my favorite movies though. It's one where you pick up on new things every time you watch it.
I didn't like TCM the first time I saw it either. I was about 8, and had seen TCM2 on HBO prior. I was expecting it to be more like 2, and it disappointed me. As I got older, and my taste in horror broadened, I came to recognize it for the great movie it is. I still like 2 a lot, but it just can't compare to the original.

I generally need to take some time to weigh the pros and cons of a film, and decide which side comes up the winner. Just because a movie is largely bad, does not mean that it can't be saved by a few redeeming features. (ex: The acting could be terrible, but the script is good. To me, the script is more important than the acting, so that movie, based on that, would probably be more enjoyable to me) Does that make sense? I guess it just comes down to the fact that I like to let a movie sink in for a while before judging it...

Alright. While this film contained some really quirky characters, interesting concepts and some genuinely funny lines, I felt like this film didn't trust itself enough to tell a really original story. It had it, and let it go at times. I felt like I didn't really care about characters that I was supposed to care about and liked characters who ended up not mattering worth a shit. Ultimately, I felt like the storytelling failed, and, unfortunately, that's too important to forgive, especially when you consider that its almost two and a half hours long. (Waaaaaaaaaaaaay too long.) In low budget film making, I can forgive bad acting, bad direction, bad lighting, bad editing, bad F/X, but I can not forgive bad script and plot. Everything else costs you money. A plot and script are free, generally written by the director. That being said, this was a brave attempt and I saw enough good things from this director/writer that I would watch his work again.
