I love the movie. I haven't read the book yet, but it's supposed to be much more graphic than the film...which of course means that I must own it.

am i the only one who didnt care for that movie at all?? Well, you're definitely in the minority. That's for sure. When I first saw the movie, I didn't care for it. But if you watch it, looking for brilliance, you'll find a ton of it. It's not really the kind of movie you just sit back watching and expect to throw things at you. You have to look for character qualities and other subtleties. It's a horror film for smart people - I hate to say.

Well, it did a lot for me. At various times. You have to really understand the idea here - he is in a cold, dead, lifeless world. So his killing people is his way of trying to live. He is just as screwed up as all the people he interacts with. But he hates them. Therefore, he hates himself. He kills people, mostly people that are in his social circle, as his way of trying to scare the people he hates. But they don't care. Nobody cares. So he's a killer who can't be caught.
It did something that pretty much no other horror film has ever done. It takes place in a world that's so real. So disturbingly dark and realistic, since we all know how many morally bankrupt people there are in the world. Yet, nobody takes murder seriously. Everyone is so drugged up, that they don't notice anyone's killing anyone. Certainly that's one thing I really love about the movie. The Courtney character. The sort of dirty-blonde girl who's always slurring her words.
Anyway, the film really captures a time and a place so well. And it's so cold, that it's disturbing. And so heartless that it's brutal.
