After reading Evil Dave's reply on the movie board about Deadwood combined with the topic in the Horror section about which movies SHOULD have had sequels I decided to come up with this topic. What shows do you wish could have either extended their planned run or not been cancelled? Also, when you list them, see if you can find out why the shows were ended. Just for fun.

Ah! The first reply and a great one at that! Yes yes and yes!!! That was a great show, I wish some channel would be dedicated to older horror/sci-fi shows like that, even as silly as it is I will go+find the reasoning behind it's cancellation Speaking of, I'll nominate Goosebumps under the condition that they don't suck And by old Nick shows, tell me what you mean Please not Alex Mack or whatever

Adventures of Briscoe County Jr. That show had a lot of potential. By the time it started to really develop. Fox pulled the plug like they do with pretty much any show that shows any potential. I'm suprised the Simpsons has lasted as long as it has. Tales From the Darkside. I have a lot of fond memories watching this as a kid. If they'd stick to what made it work back in the 80s it would be nice to see it brought back. Knowing the networks though, they'd try to "fix" it, and turn it into a total mockery. Night Flight. This block is probably the reason I'm fascinated with trash cinema. Before 100% Weird, Monster Vision, and USA Up All Night, there was Night Flight. It had everything from baddly dubbed Asian movies/shows, to underground music videos, to seriously derranged cartoons, to parodies and satire of politicians, televangelists, and pop culture icons of the day. Night Flight had it all. If you never saw it, check out the genius of Night Flight for your yourself: www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTvqTtHHsjg

Seinfeld. I would never have gotten tired of watching that every Thursday night. As a New Yorker pretty d**n close to NYC, with a dad working in Manhatten I can tell you I am absolutely a devoted fan to that show I'm sure I own one season on DVD at least and I've rented some from the library. It's on weekdays here @ 7:30 P.M.+11:00 P.M. on Fox and 6:00+6:30 on TBS I think I try to catch at least 2 eps a night I've heard of Briscoe Country but never seen, Tales from the Darkside I've seen on Showtime Beyond I think, I saw the show and I've seen the movie But I would agree with you there Night Flight is on Chiller TV I think, and from their description it sounds cool. You ever see Forever Knight? They should bring that back too Edit:Night Gallery is on Chiller TV not Night Flight en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_Flight_%28TV_series%29I wish I could resurrect Scooby Doo, Where Are You? too xD Just the original series, there's a marathon of it on this weekend and it still makes me laugh

Yeah, someday when I have the cash-ola to move out to So-Cal like I want, I'll meet Jerilee and breed 'til I'm sleepy (one can wish right?). Besides, you've gotta love the "Jerilee Bonner Dance!" To quote her, "It's sweeping the nation!" Lol See for yourself at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJCdePjhQbU I love how she gets mad at the guy "dancer" for doing it wrong! ;D

Fawlty Towers - 12 episodes isn't enough. It's just not. Even if they have to completely re-cast it. But as long as John and Prunella are still alive, as is Andrew. It'll work. They could try getting Jane Horrocks as a possible replacement for Polly. Besides, Polly as a character would never have stayed at that place for much longer than we saw her doing.
That's pretty much it. Almost all shows, whether I liked it or not, died when they should have. Some even after they should have (Roseanne, I'm sorry but it's true).

I think it was NBC, tried to get the rights to do an American version of Fawlty Towers. Cleese refused to sell it to them. He said that his reasoning was that they were out of ideas for the show period. Moving it to the US wasn't going to make it better. More likely worse.
I kind of admire him for ending it on a high note like that, instead of dragging it out for years and years. I do wish there had of been more episodes though. The Germans is quiet possibly one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
