Do you think this is a big problem in the world?
Lately, every single thing I do reminds me of Overpopulation. So, that's why I made this post.

Some days I feel that all the world's problems are the fault of overpopulation.

Solution: Soylent Green
Seriously I do think it's a problem. Unfortunantly for us, nature has very efficient ways to curb overpopulation.

^^^^Yeah, that and George W. Bush!
Um I guess this is a problem in some places. But in the grand scheme of things I think there's bigger fish to fry.

But isn't a burgeoning population always a little more responsible for things like the 2000 + 2004 election scandals? More people, more unregistered voters / voter ignorance, more people = more business going on, more distractions from voting ... there are many more examples, but I kind of feel overpopulation is what helps the truth get lost more conveniently. That with a bigger population, Money and the side that plays with it the most and looks the richer to the people will be more popular and easy to keep control of the voters, not to mention the individual Votes themselves...

Some valid points, but I believe the burden must fall on the public, no matter how large it is. If people would stop getting caught up in "American Idol" and the like, demand the media report facts instead of biased spin, hold politicians responsible for more than a week, and just generally wake the hell up for lack of a better term, things would be much better regardless of how many people there are. It's simply become too easy to not be informed in today's world IMO.

And, am I right in thinking, the Bush administration is trying to convince us the truth they're holding back on us about the Iraq war, they say, has to do with not letting the "enemy" know our strategy / secrets / plans / reasoning for going into the war?

I don't really think so. The Bush Administration has always pushed that Al Qaida had ties to Saddam Hussein and thus, the war in Iraq is a necessity to win the "war on terror" (as if such a thing could exist. just like the "war on drugs."). They've always been pretty hell bent on preaching that publicly so I'd have to think that our "enemies" have heard all that rhetoric by now. That being said, these enemies are much smarter than that and know that the entire Iraq war is pure bullsh*t, and are simply using it as recruiting propaganda fodder to increase the amount of people around the world to see things their way when it comes to hating us enough to want to destroy us. Thus, the war in Iraq is not going to accomplish the said supposed "goal" of stopping terrorism. It's actually increasing it by thousands. Now if Bush would have listened to any of the experts on the Middle East he'd know this too, but apparently "God" is a more reliable source in his mind. That is why he refuses to stop from "staying the course." In his mind he has to be right because of his Christian beliefs. Ironically, this is the very same validation our enemies like Al Qaida use to justify their heinous acts of terrorism against us "infidels." This sad and tragic irony is why I tend to feel the same disdain for our current president as I do our current enemies.

If they all pull out now,bad things will happen. If they stay, bad things will happen.Fortunately or unfortunately we ,the little people, are not in a position to make that call.I do lean a little to the right but there are problems with both sides. I also believe there are bigger bastards around than the president as well. He's just done some dumb shit!

You're right, if we leave, it'll all go to hell. If we stay, it'll go to hell. So if it's gonna go to hell either way, why leave our men and women there to die? Besides, if we never had gone in the first place, Saddam would still be in power. Now, I'm not saying the guy wasn't bad news, but history dictates that when you have a dictator like Hussein in charge, you don't have terrorist cells in that same country due to the fact that a dictator will crush any direct threat to his power. So in effect, the day we invaded Iraq is the same day that we opened the door for our REAL enemies to set up shop there. Way to go 'Dubya! And yes, you're right. There are bigger "bastards" walking the earth than Bush. But to say he's just "done some dumb shit" is completely understating the situation he's put us in. You can afford to have a fuck-up running McDonald's, but the same can't be said for the leader of the free world. The reverberation of his incompetence and ARROGANCE will be felt in our country for generations to come. The Presidency is not a job you can afford to "learn as you go." You have to be able to lead competently from the get-go.

Very good points indeed. The dictator one especially.I guess it's just the lesser of two evils. It just bothers me that, not saying you, some people watch a Michael Moore documentary and feel that everything he says is absolutely true and that they are privy to some govt. conspiracy that may or may not exist. The man is a good editor, that's it.Funny he didn't show what "Roger" said when he actually did get to talk to him...I recently picked up "Farenhype 911" and found it very interesting. But who do you believe?I guess a bit of both.

I would agree with that point of view for the most part. It's hard to take what anyone presents as "facts" anymore as 100 percent truth due to the fact that it seems everyone in front of a camera seems to have their own personal agenda to run. The truth usually lies somewhere between the extremely polarized opposing point of views.

I do not know a whole lot about that subject as to offer a valid opinion.I can tell you that I don't think it's right for a 20 year old woman to have four kids with no means of supporting them other than the gov't.There was a woman on the news this thanksgiving that had 9 kids and had to eat at a local mission.I find that sad considering the baby-bonuses that are given here.I'm not talking about widowed women here either. Our city is not overly-populated or condensed either so I can't speak for other cities or countries.I'll have to plead the fifth.

At least make it tougher, put some laws in or something? It's not fair on the kids or society for that matter. The "young-mother" rate here is just crazy. But say anything, and you're a tyrant.Especially since the majority of that rate belongs to "other ethnicities".Well, when i'm in power, all that shit's gonna change!lol

Here's a line from the movie Parenthood. Not only is it appropriate for this discussion, but it's also the only intelligent thing I've ever heard come out of Keanu Reeves's mouth. I'll paraphrase, as I'm not 100 percent sure on the exact reading, but it's something along the lines of this: You know, you need a license to own a dog or drive a car. Hell, you need a license to catch a fish! But they'll let any dead-beat asshole be a parent.............Some pretty true words there. The problem in this country is that having a child is held up so ridiculously high. You know, we use words like precious and angel to describe every single child that's born, no matter how unrealistic it is for the parents of that child to raise it based on their immediate means. You know, maybe most children are quite precious................Just too bad a lot of the people bringing them into the world, are not. Thank you once again religious right, for embedding the belief that following a blind faith should always come before logic, reason, and reality! (If the last line of this comment didn't make any sense to you, then congratulations, you are officially part of the problem!)
