What horror movies could've benefitted from way more gore scenes?
Bloody Murder, Friday the 13th part VII (though that's the MPAA's fault)

Yeah, Behind the Mask could've used more gore...but it's still one of my favorite movies.

I always thought an R-rated version of Gremlins could've been fun.

I always thought an R-rated version of Gremlins could've been fun. Have you heard the audio commentaries on the DVD? Chris Columbus' original script was very much R-rated stuff. For me... I don't know. Nothing new, that's for sure. I'll give it a think-over.

Hi, Lazario. I haven't heard from you in a while. Nice avatar, by the way. Thanks. Great to have you back here. Hope you'll stay longer this time. These two make great candidates: In fact, I think gore is pretty much the thing that's missing from these movies. Put in gore and take out some of the unneeded shots of the killer lurking around. Anyone else notice he was more like a 2nd rate Grim Reaper? Is the Grim Reaper scary if all he does is steal your soul? Not much imagination.

Hey, speaking of the "IKWYDLS" series, have you seen the new one that came out this year (or was it last year?)?. I haven't, but I heard it wasn't anything special.

I can think of some bloody movies that could have been more violent. You know- when you hear a movie is bloody and/or gory and it's not as that as it should be... but yet that's the only good thing the movie has to offer.

Holy crap! I can't believe somebody resurrected this thread from the very bowels of internet hell (okay, I exaggerated there, but I have at tendency to be a drama queen).
Anyway, there's this slasher from 2002 (I think) called Slash. It's about a rock band who fall victim to a killer dressed as a scarecrow. It's a good movie, but there's an astounding lack of blood.
Worse yet, the only "gore" scene is CG.

Actually, I Know What You Did Last Summer and I Still Know are two films that could have been amazing with really wild, elaborate gore scenes. Especially since the characters are so shallow and materialistic and plastic. I'm always sort of looking for the new Tenebre in the horror genre. Only, ditching the detective stuff, which I Know What You Did Last Summer really picked up and seemed to like. I'd rather see a fun slasher film where lame, annoying people are not made sympathetic. Instead, just maximize how shallow they are and kill them in over the top ways.
Though... not much one could do with only a hook. Those deaths get boring fast. In I Still Know, the killer also used a pair of hedgeclipping shears... Probably be more fun to see them opened first.
