but i know where you're goin'! Little Freddy humour there. I own Bad taste and have seen Dead Alive recently. Both excellent and fun movies. Now, Peter Jackson had these two gems under his belt years ago and has now gone on to do a few "BIG" movies. My point being, should the fans be happy that he is a big commodity now or consider him a sell-out? I think that he should at least put out something along those lines for his original fans.Any thoughts???

I'd love it if he did, but I don't ever see it happening. He's been quoted on more than one occasion as saying that he doesn't really have much interest in doing anymore horror.

^^^ Yep, it deff was that. To see a good king kong flick, I reccommend the 70's version with Jeff Bridges, Jessica Lange, and Charles Grodin. It's much better.

I rolled the dice and picked up transformers last week (needed a little variety in my collection) and wasn't too disappointed.obviously, it's pure eye-candy and minor nostalgia for the fans of the original series. My only real complaint was the shitty editing(during some fight scenes)... and a few other minor little details. All in all 6 out of 10.Seems low but I'm loyal to the animated version.

Like it matters - Dead Alive and Bad Taste are so good (AND THAT IS A MATTER OF FACT, not opinion), he'll be a Master of Horror till the day he dies.

I'm not dissing him before "Shocker" but after that he did get shitty.Don't give me any of that "Scream" crap either! How bout "Cursed" " To me, he's in the same boat as Jackson (once great, now not-so-great).

^^ I'd agree with that. While coming up with some of the greatest and most revolutionary ideas for the genre, he's also cranked out an ever-growing number of stinkers. It brings up an interesting question: Should a director be judged only on his great additions to the genre, while ignoring some of the "duds?" Or should they be judged by their "great to mediocre" ratio? An intriguing thought to ponder.............Not sure which thesis holds more water, to be honest.
Also, I believe you could add Tobe Hooper's name to the list of director's that fit this criteria. Maybe even John Carpenter (although I wouldn't).

Ohhh... I'd say Carpenter and Romero have had the greatest careers all-around.Almost perfect records with a few k.o's apiece.Did Land of the Dead hold up for any of you?
