Tales from the Crypt-Best (2 Movies During The Series Run, Only Demon Knight was good but another movie way before the series which was also good ) Tales from the Darkside-Really good, I assume you've seen the movie? Outer Limits-Original was good and I think the 90s series was too Night Gallery-Haven't seen it, it's on Chiller TV though, it's another Rod Sterling show after the Twilight Zone So it must be good Monsters-Also on ChillerTV, they say it's akin to Tales from the Darkside so I'm guessing it's another good horror show I still recommend Forever Knight too

Yeah, we remember Werewolf You brought it up on the ChillerTV thread Why has no one added Twilight Zone to this list? It's still a classic show

The only one I really remember and have taken to is Tales from the Crypt. So dark, so demented. Pure horror programming. Never a letdown. Even the weaker episodes get better on repeat viewings.

I agree. I love that no matter what, the series always maintained it's dark presentation and style.

I don't know if it would count, but I loved Scare Tactics. It combined both horror and sheer halirity at people's reactions. It's one of my guilty pleasures...

You know the thing I remember most about Goosebumps? Was when that show debuted on Halloween night (199?) and they showed The Haunted Mask, and I was completely and utterly destroyed. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. A big one. So after that, I probably only watched 1 more episode and that was for a book I never read.

Lol, I remember when i was in grade school and everyone was running around reading Goosebumps and thinking it was soooooooo scary............................I was reading Stephen King's 'Cujo.' Somehow after that, Goosebumps lost their effect on me................

For me, my R.L. Stine addiction was Fear Street. I still have quite a collection of those books. I think I've got at least 50 of them.

you were reading Cujo? Yeah, I suppose once you read about a rabid dog attacking people...a haunted mask doesn't really affect you anymore.

Yeah, I hated all the books that were geared for kids my age and I had a growing fascination with horror, but the public library wouldn't let a kid check those kind of books out. So I used to pay random teens that were there 3 dollars if they'd go up and check them out for me. Did the same thing at the video stores to get the good "R" rated horror flicks. I was a crafty youth...............

Man, the video stores in my town never cared what I rented. Well except movies from behind the curtain, in the adult section.
That's one thing I really miss about the 80s and early 90s. Mom and pop video stores. They had stuff Blockbuster wouldn't have the balls to carry, and some of the stores looked like they were probably selling weed out of the place, or making snuff films in the back. Maybe both.
My favorite one is still there, but they've barely got any videos today. Mostly it's a semi-legal gambling joint, masquerading as a video store. They sell lottery tickets and have poker/slot machines that pay-out in gift cards. They used to pay-out lottery tickets, but they got busted for that a few years ago.

But they wouldn't carry stuff like Jack Frost, Uncle Sam, those cheap, sleazy, gory A-Pix films. They definitely seemed to have an attitude against them. But they did carry Troll 2. And I sincerely doubt Blockbuster "would have the balls" to carry that one. 50/50.
