Cool, should be a great game to see live. I guess when I watch it Sunday and someone tosses a brick from the stands and knocks Romo out of the game, I'll know who to blame.

Giants have a pretty solid team.Big Shockey fan.Can you elaborate on what happened when Eli got drafted?I heard that his dad was like "The Manning family...blah,blah,blah".Sounds like when Lindros got drafted a bit.

Well, after today, looks like the Giants were knocked down a notch.
As far as I see it, the two conference championship games could very well be NE/Indy and Dallas/GB.

I thought New York played right with Dallas until they got screwed by the zebras when they were down inside the 10 yard line with that phantom holding call. They would've been able to tie it up there, but instead all the momentum ended up going to the Romo-ettes and the Giants never seemed to recover after that.

I think it may have been that a little but the entire second half, the Giants seemed kinda flat. Dallas just took over, Romo showed up, old second-half Eli did as well.
All I know is the NFC is looking like Dallas/GB, best hope for NY now is a wild card.
Also, I would like to add a big "LOL COLTS".

yea the holding call was bullshit...it came so late and there were no players even there.. but im still feeling good..all offseason all i heard was how bad the giants were gonna be..right now there still the third best NFC team..and they should have no prob getting a wild card spot..i have a feeling we will be meeting dallas again

That call was total trash. I was watching it over at my dad's house and we both thought it was a total bailout by the ref. Sure he turned Roy Williams a bit, but if you watch the replay it wasn't from grabbing the jersey and Williams had completely run himself a good 5 yards out of the play before the runner was even to the hole. What I'm getting at is even if it was a hold (which I don't think it was), it was totally inconsequential on the outcome of the play. Usually I don't get to worked up over bad calls, but that one had a huge impact on the rest of the game, 'cuz after that Eli had his delay of game penalty and then the false start, so they went from scoring a touchdown and tying it to being backed up almost to the 30.
But like you said, they didn't lose any ground in the wildcard race because the Lions laid an egg in Arizona anyways.

you know what pissed me off the most...you can basically call holding on everyplay..that was clearly one that you have to let go..it obviously didnt have any outcome on the play..regardless jacobs was going in..plus like you said i dont even think it was holding..and it was called so late..that place was going crazy..i mean sure that woulda only tied it but it clearly effected the game..
but like i said..next weeks game is just as important..although the nfc west and south are so sorry i think no matter what we are gonna get a wildcard...unless we have a complete collapse

One other thing I noticed when I watched this game: Why the hell did they stop going to Shockey?! He tore Dallas up in the first half and then it's like they forgot about him as I think they always do the past few years. The stupid thing is, Dallas didn't really make a solid adjustment to take him away either. From what I could see, they either played him straight up with Williams (who is a good safety against the run, but his coverage skills suck donkey balls) or a cover 3 mask where they tried to play a bump and bracket with their weakside backer and the low safety. Coughlin should've kept exploiting it because they had a definite mismatch there all game. Plus it would've took some pressure off of Eli having to go with 7 step drops.

yea there is no way williams can stay with shockey..but ill tell you i have watched every giants game since shockey has been a giant and we NEVER go to him enough..the guy by far as more talent then any other TE and even if hes having a huge game we always seem to stop going to him..he causes so many miss matches cuz no linebacker or safety can really cover him..im a huge shockey fan..i hate how he gets labeled as a "whiner"...he just plays with so much passion and has the right to be upset if he doesnt get the ball enough..plus he doesnt ever really cause probs..he just loves to play the game and win

I totally agree. I see what other teams do with guys like Gates, Gonzales, and Whitten and I can't for the life of me figure out why they never do the same with Shockey. And I've noticed that over the years too, they always forget about him in the middle of the game. They get him the ball early and at the end a lot, but the rest of the game he's usually left out in the cold without a jacket. And I can also see why he gets pissed from time to time. A lot of players do whine about not getting the ball, but in his case I have to agree with him. I don't know what kind of contract he's locked into, but I wouldn't be surprised if he jumps at unrestricted free agency when he gets the chance. There'll be a lot of teams out there that would love to give him a bigger role in their offense than what he's gotten to this point under Coughlin. Too bad cuz he's a beast when they do get him the rock.

especially since the giants dont really have a #3 receiver..shockey should catch like at least 7 balls a game
as for him leaving i dont think it will ever happen..i saw an interview with him about how he wanted to start and finish as a giant..and i think he meant it..although circumstances can change..but ill say this..ill be shocked if i see him ever play for another team

I think he could function a lot like Dallas Clark does up in Indy for Eli's big brother. With Harrison out most of the year, they pretty much have made Clark their number 3 and line him up in the slot almost exclusively. Shockey'd be great at that spot on the field because it gets him out in space where linebackers have no shot at covering him, and if they wanna go nickel to get more athletic, it really opens up the running game. Mostly because it gets 1 linebacker off the field, but they could also run Iso stretch plays and use him as a blocking mismatch against a CB as a lead. Basically it'd really make their offense a lot more diverse. I just don't see how you can have a player that's that versatile at that position and not make the most of all his abilities.

o yea i deff agree..he should be lined up at the WR spot much more often then he is..people look at his numbers and think hes washed up..but thats not the case at all..its just that hes not used right..the lions have problems covering guys so hopefully we can expose that and get him open over the middle..if we do he can have another huge day
