We're pretty much at the halfway point in the '07 - '08 season. Thus far, who's been the most valuable player in your opinion?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and vote for Favre. I know Brady and Moss are putting up unprecedented numbers, but I think Favre's impact on his team transends just playing well on the field. Green Bay is one of, if not the youngest, team in the league. Yet they're playing great and have a legitimate shot to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. I have to believe that Brett has had a huge impact on these young players performing so well so early in their careers. With a young group like this, it's essential that you have a guy who can lead the team in the locker room and put all the pressure on the field on top of his shoulders. The other point I'd like to make, is that Favre is putting up his numbers with virtually no running game and a receiving corps that's nowhere close to as talented or deep as most of the other quarterbacks in this poll. Sure Donald Driver is always a consistent performer, but a Marvin Harrison, Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Braylon Edwards, or Plaxico Burress he is not. And after Driver, who else WR scares any opposing defense? Indy has Wayne and Clark, NE has Welker and Stallworth, Dallas has Witten, Cleveland has Winslow, and New York has Toomer and Shockey. To me, Favre has put this young team on his shoulders and is simply making everyone around him better and have them sitting in first place in their division through the halfway point. I think he's done a great job.

i do agree with you about favre putting up great numbers with basically no help on offense but i gotta go derek anderson...cmon the guy was unknown coming into the season...didnt even start game 1 and he is now # 2 in the league in TD passes...pretty amazing and not to mention this is the first time the browns have been over .500 this late in the season in who knows how many years as for defensive MVP OSSSSSSSSIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII OOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSIIIIIIIIIIIIII

I agree with you about Anderson. After Favre, he was my next choice.

I went with Favre, too.
He's doing more with less of a team than anyone else is.
I will say that I'd actually put Tom Brady as MVP right now, I think he's got the whole thing locked for league MVP and Offensive Player...I mean, 30 TD's and 2 picks with a QB rating over 130 as of right now is just friggin' insane.

^^^ Yeah, no doubt about that. I didn't put Brady up there as a choice because it's pretty much assumed that everybody would pick him. I guess I wanted to see who everybody would pick besides Tom Terrific.

^^ same as me..brady right now is clearly the MVP...but we all expected him to do good..just not this good
derek anderson wasnt even expected to play let alone be second in the league in TD passes

^^^ Yeah, no doubt. Remember how horrible they looked against the Steelers in week 1 when Charlie Frye was at the helm? Pretty big improvement. Methinks Brady Quinn might be hanging out with that bench a lot longer than anyone expected!
