The Breakfast Club. The DVD that's currently out is an utter disgrace. There is absolutely NOTHING in the way of extras. And for a movie that's as popular as it, they really could have done better. A hell of a lot better.

The remake version of 'Black Christmas.' The first disc for the movie. The second disc shaming the viewer for buying that piece of crap instead of the original.

^^ haha i think your asking for a little to much there I don't think he's asking for enough. The Friday the 13th movies are, by far, the most iconic slasher titles in history. Thank you. Especially since that's coming from someone who seems to be a big Halloween series fan, like you. And you can tell that it's not a lot to ask too, by the DVD package Anchor Bay delivered to the Halloween series fans, the 25 Years of Halloween 2-disc DVD, I think that's what it's called. They basically set themselves to correcting the FLAWS of Universal and Dimension Home Video's by producing Extras that the companies were too cheap and selfish to put out themselves. Just short of commentaries, there are literally over 30 minutes of interviews a piece for Halloween's 2, 3, and 6 that you can't get on the individual DVD's. If only Anchor Bay were prepared to do that for the Friday the 13th movies, parts 1 through 8, but since they don't have the rights to any of those movies...

No, for people who are genuinely interested in hearing about what were going through the minds of the people who made the movies. "Fan boys" are people who jump on the bandwagon of praise, and therefore are not as creative.

Obsessing over someone else's work is not creative. It's the opposite of creative. Going out and making a movie your own way would be creative.

Actually, obsession is often times an expression of creativity - a manifestation, a bastardized version of it. A misdirected outlet, but still an outlet. You're trying to use the stigma against my point. Why you're doing that is what I'd like to know.
And "making" a movie is not necessarily more creative. Making a movie involves a lot of physical work that can actually work against creativity. It's a process that is very dependant on HOW one makes the movie and depends solely on how the filmmaker works best.
The featurettes / commentaries / etc. are for people who like to think things over. If you don't get that, you're not as bright as I'm sure you'd like to think you are.

Nah, obsession speaks to one's wanting of something they can never have. It points to a person's insecurity about themselves. They see someone achieve something that they know deep down they could never achieve themselves. So by obsessing over minute details they get to live that life through someone else. That's why I have a problem with all that extra "behind the scenes" junk on DVD's. Besides, I've never heard anyone describe an obsessive ex-lover as "creative." I have however heard of them being described as insecure.

Nah, obsession speaks to one's wanting of something they can never have. It points to a person's insecurity about themselves. That's a very flat and undynamic way of looking at it. But completely in line with the way you typically dismiss things. In fact, where did you learn that bit of wisdom? I think you couldn't think of anything else to call that trait, so "obsession" became the word you conveniently associate with it. Seriously, you're way off-base here. At least, if you still consider "fanboys" to be people who like bonus features. They see someone achieve something that they know deep down they could never achieve themselves. Sounds like simple admiration to me. There's nothing pathetic about that. So by obsessing over minute details they get to live that life through someone else. Sorry, but I won't at any point be paying you for your services, doc. That's why I have a problem with all that extra "behind the scenes" junk on DVD's. Who asked you what you have a problem with? You're starting to paint yourself into a corner; you're becoming very narrow minded and judgmental. And... I have a problem with that. Besides, you Stopped Thinking. Did it ever occur to you that people just enjoy these bonus features for the same reason they enjoy watching movies and TV shows?? That it makes them think, and it takes them out of the world they live in? That to me, is a very healthy way of brewing creativity. And everyone has a bank of influences, creatively. Whether they show it in their senses of humor, or many other tastes. I have however heard of them being described as insecure. And what, pretel, is the point of saying things like that? Are you better than "them" somehow? Does your pity or disgust make you honorable? I'm sorry, but - I really don't get where you're coming from with this. Sounds like Elitism to me. Lol, more like " fanboys." Oh, you mean like MST3K fans?
